0:31 31 seconds welcome back to disclosure team hi Katie how are you doing I'm doing great how are you Vinnie not too bad at all uh 0:39 39 seconds this is going to be an exciting one definitely I am so excited to talk to Ross and uh get to know him and hear his 0:47 47 seconds perspective on all the news that's been happening lately absolutely let's not waste any more time and welcome back to 0:53 53 seconds disclosure team Roscoe Ross how are you hello guys how are you all I'm so excited to be seeing you again I suspect 1:02 1 minute, 2 seconds it's very chilly where you are I won't tell you that it's just been a beautiful 30 degree day here today and I've been watering my garden and enjoying the 1:10 1 minute, 10 seconds beautiful Summer Sunshine but of course we won't talk no no I won't say that about half an hour ago I was stood in a freezing cold schoolyard dropping my 1:18 1 minute, 18 seconds daughter off just looking at the grayness of her the surroundings well if you ever want to come visit in San Diego you both have a place to stay 1:26 1 minute, 26 seconds I've actually visited San Diego quite a few times actually I've got a few friends um a couple of people from the Australian Navy who serve in the um uh 1:36 1 minute, 36 seconds collaboration with the American Navy and it's a great town it's a fun place agreed agreed it is well we are so 1:44 1 minute, 44 seconds excited to have you here thank you for taking the time um you have been making the the circuit recently and so we were we're following 1:53 1 minute, 53 seconds up and all the the recent things you've been talking about and I'm just going to Dive Right In if that's okay with you sure let's do it so one of the things Chapter 2: Media coverage of UAP 2:01 2 minutes, 1 second that you have been speaking a lot about recently is the utterly appalling response or lack thereof of U.S 2:10 2 minutes, 10 seconds journalists in the wake of so to speak balloon week and there's been a lot of legitimate criticism that many 2:17 2 minutes, 17 seconds generalists simply didn't do their homework they hadn't heard of Arrow before they didn't oppress about some of the more alarming statements about 2:25 2 minutes, 25 seconds sensors and an object shattering into a million pieces and it seems to me at least that what we're really dealing 2:34 2 minutes, 34 seconds with here is a femme mental degree of UAP illiteracy and as a former lobbyist one of the 2:41 2 minutes, 41 seconds things I used to do was arrange staff delegations for Congressional staff to kind of bone them up on topics and so 2:49 2 minutes, 49 seconds I'm really curious to know is if you think we need something like that for journalists do we need to put together a UAP boot camp 101 and kind of get some 2:58 2 minutes, 58 seconds journalists up to speed so that next time this happens they know the right questions to ask you know Katie I don't think they'd listen I mean one of the 3:06 3 minutes, 6 seconds things with the whole issue of uaps is it's the one area where the media suspends normal faculties for rational 3:15 3 minutes, 15 seconds objective analysis it's almost as soon as you stray into the area of um uaps because of the stigma the taboo 3:24 3 minutes, 24 seconds that's attached to it almost immediately media just kind of forget about what they're meant to do they forget about asking the right kind of questions they 3:32 3 minutes, 32 seconds they suspend their normal judgment and giggle titter and and completely ignore what their responsibility is which is 3:41 3 minutes, 41 seconds you know fundamentally to hold power to account and to ask basic questions I mean my beef about the whole 3:49 3 minutes, 49 seconds um balloon gate Saga is that um well think about it what have you seen in the news about balloon gate in the 3:57 3 minutes, 57 seconds last two weeks since it was all over and the reason it was all over is because the media just accepted the 4:04 4 minutes, 4 seconds Assurance from the Pentagon without a scrap of evidence that the um the explanation for the three hobby the 4:12 4 minutes, 12 seconds three objects was that they were hobby balloons or maybe some kind of um private corporate scientific exercise 4:19 4 minutes, 19 seconds not a shred of evidence to support such a claim no video no data to assert the 4:26 4 minutes, 26 seconds the basis for this assertion um there are so many unanswered questions about that episode and it's 4:33 4 minutes, 33 seconds not because I'm suggesting that the um the objects were anomalous right but the the point that I'm making is that the 4:42 4 minutes, 42 seconds media have been manipulated to make the issue go away largely I suspect because the White House is embarrassed that it deployed probably about one and a half 4:50 4 minutes, 50 seconds million dollars to shoot down what they assert uh our balloons you know but I mean I I I I've heard the radio 4:59 4 minutes, 59 seconds transcript of pilots from one of the shootdown incidents and it does sound like that what they're talking about is a balloon so let's give the Pentagon the 5:07 5 minutes, 7 seconds benefit of the dart but really why is it that American taxpayers don't ask questions and the media don't ask questions when the president clearly 5:16 5 minutes, 16 seconds embarrassed and overreacting to the Chinese balloon Saga um as soon as he's told by the Pentagon 5:23 5 minutes, 23 seconds that they've turned up the sensitivity of their systems and started detecting other objects he immediately in a reflex 5:30 5 minutes, 30 seconds action orders the shoot down of those objects whatever they are and um the media are not asking basic questions 5:37 5 minutes, 37 seconds like why Mr President did the Pentagon suddenly adjust the sensitivity of their systems if they've 5:46 5 minutes, 46 seconds known these objects are there why did it take an incident like this to adjust the sensitivity of these systems why weren't we looking for these objects before 5:54 5 minutes, 54 seconds because even if you accept the arguments of the American government that these objects are benign and that we can be 6:01 6 minutes, 1 second reassured that they're no threat they're not in any way extraterrestrial which is something funnily enough the Pentagon volunteered the White House security 6:10 6 minutes, 10 seconds officials volunteered not the media even if you accept that Assurance the the implications are that um 6:18 6 minutes, 18 seconds you know we we have a situation where a government is admitting it for the first time in American 6:25 6 minutes, 25 seconds history has engaged militarily with weapons objects in American airspace brought them down 6:33 6 minutes, 33 seconds and even though they gave assurances I was she just going through earlier some notes from uh some of the media reports 6:40 6 minutes, 40 seconds and especially with the Alaska object whatever it was I refused to call it a balloon with the Alaska object 6:49 6 minutes, 49 seconds officials briefed media notably Reuters and you can find this in the Reuters articles stipulating that they were very 6:56 6 minutes, 56 seconds confident they would find the object that had been brought down because the sea ice off the part of dead horse where 7:04 7 minutes, 4 seconds this object is located is Frozen so any object particularly the one they've just shot at which is presumably 7:12 7 minutes, 12 seconds not necessarily white is going to be easily detectable on pack Ice Frozen pack ice and yet we're being told by the 7:19 7 minutes, 19 seconds Pentagon and by the White House that somehow these objects all three of them are undetectable I mean that's shockingly bad luck gosh you know when 7:29 7 minutes, 29 seconds you've got geospatial satellites you've got the US Air Force you've got military troops that can be deployed on the 7:36 7 minutes, 36 seconds ground helicopters search and search and rescue I mean you've got the full resources of the American Military and the most powerful Nation on the planet 7:44 7 minutes, 44 seconds can't find three objects that are the first objects ever to be shot down all in a period of about one week 7:53 7 minutes, 53 seconds in the history of NORAD and you would think that the public the media would be asking questions and 8:00 8 minutes saying you know what were these unidentified objects why do you know why do you know for sure that they are benign what do you know for sure that 8:10 8 minutes, 10 seconds they're not anomalous in some way why were descriptions given to Media for example that one of these objects in 8:18 8 minutes, 18 seconds some way interfered with the sensor systems of one of the Jets um why was it that in one of the 8:25 8 minutes, 25 seconds incidents the object when it broke apart looked metallic and cylindrical 8:34 8 minutes, 34 seconds um what possibly could this be and and why can't we find it and and this is the sort of questioning that I 8:42 8 minutes, 42 seconds would have thought any logical member of the media worked properly to be asked if I was the um I don't know if there is an Alaska Gazette but if I was the Alaska 8:50 8 minutes, 50 seconds Gazette I'd be deploying my chief reporter to go out to Dead Horse and ask people did they see any search mission 8:58 8 minutes, 58 seconds did they see any helicopters were there any aircraft flying overhead I mean as I was just doing some research on dead 9:05 9 minutes, 5 seconds horse today and it's 10 miles from the coast so there are tracks there are tracks from the um the end of the Dutton 9:14 9 minutes, 14 seconds Highway the Dalton highway to um you get basically you get to the end of the road and there's dead horse and 9:22 9 minutes, 22 seconds then there's 10 more miles and it's the coast and then it's then it's the Arctic Ocean and locals go trapping and hunting in that part of the world they know all 9:30 9 minutes, 30 seconds the tracks are actually been speaking to a local who contacted me telling me he couldn't see or recall seeing any search 9:38 9 minutes, 38 seconds aircraft so I'm just asking very basic questions that for what is after all an extra 9:46 9 minutes, 46 seconds ordinarily historic incident I mean to my recollection there was obviously the infamous December 7th 1941 Pearl Harbor 9:56 9 minutes, 56 seconds attacked by the Japanese where we you know the Americans uh were I think was it 2335 10:03 10 minutes, 3 seconds um American servicemen were killed in that attack and um that's obviously an enormously important day in American history and 10:12 10 minutes, 12 seconds that's why that's the political background to why the the incursion of these objects into American airspace is so important but I was doing my research 10:21 10 minutes, 21 seconds and I noted that there's actually another incident in Alaska which involved a Japanese zero which was one of the only other times when a there's 10:29 10 minutes, 29 seconds been an engagement with um aircraft over American airspace and then of course I loved the irony of 10:37 10 minutes, 37 seconds it because when I was going back through the history the one of the other only incidents over American airspace is the so-called Battle of Los Angeles which 10:45 10 minutes, 45 seconds you Casey might know about where in the middle of World War II shortly after the Japanese declared war on America 10:55 10 minutes, 55 seconds um something was seen hovering over the over Los Angeles the city of Los Angeles and an enormous fusilade of artillery 11:04 11 minutes, 4 seconds was brought to bear on whatever this object was and contemporary accounts from the times assert that it was unable to be brought down even though artillery 11:13 11 minutes, 13 seconds shells were seen to explode very close to or on it and uh it disappeared subsequently never 11:20 11 minutes, 20 seconds any explanation for what it was and of course the official explanation was that they were shooting out of the Jitters because of the Pearl Harbor attack and 11:28 11 minutes, 28 seconds it wasn't anything at all but even the Contemporary photographs of the time show that there was an object there but 11:36 11 minutes, 36 seconds the reason it has synchronicities with what we're talking about with the shoot down incidents is both incidents show 11:43 11 minutes, 43 seconds how manipulable the media can be and how well they don't ask questions yeah I mean there's a Chapter 3: Government transparency 11:51 11 minutes, 51 seconds credulity and during World War II I can understand it you know the media were very heavily controlled there was a need to make sure that there weren't reports 12:00 12 minutes that unnecessarily raised public alarm but why why can't we know about what 12:07 12 minutes, 7 seconds happened over Dead Horse Alaska uh over the Yukon or um in other the other shoot done that took place over near the Great 12:15 12 minutes, 15 seconds Lakes I mean why just so can somebody please explain that to me why for example did the New York Times clearly 12:24 12 minutes, 24 seconds know or at least have been briefed by officials before even the general spoke to the White House Press Corps assuring 12:33 12 minutes, 33 seconds them that even though he had no idea what the object was this is the absurdity of it even though he had no idea what the object was he was very 12:40 12 minutes, 40 seconds sure it wasn't well should we pull an idea out of my head it wasn't extraterrestrial you know I don't know where that came from but uh you know I 12:49 12 minutes, 49 seconds mean why why all of a sudden did they start talking about aliens it wasn't the media that started talking about aliens it was the White House and it was the 12:57 12 minutes, 57 seconds general in charge of a North American airspace and then the did notice how when people 13:04 13 minutes, 4 seconds like Marco Rubio senator John Kennedy started talking about this issue they weren't talking to the issue of 13:12 13 minutes, 12 seconds suspected foreign balloons that had somehow made an incursion into American airspace they were talking about the 13:19 13 minutes, 19 seconds broader issue of over many many years incursions into American airspace of 13:27 13 minutes, 27 seconds unknown objects and we don't know what they are I actually made notes of it because I was so profoundly fascinated 13:35 13 minutes, 35 seconds by what they were saying I mean um what have we got here uh uh yeah Marco Rubio 13:43 13 minutes, 43 seconds firstly he came out of the briefing on the 14th of February and had a press doorstop he said look 95 of the information we'd been given in the 13:51 13 minutes, 51 seconds private hearing could be made public without compromising the security of this country right and um 13:59 13 minutes, 59 seconds he said I reiterate we know what the Spy building was from China so put that one aside the other three instances as they are 14:07 14 minutes, 7 seconds described both publicly I mean we've heard the exact same description in hundreds of cases 14:16 14 minutes, 16 seconds dozens this year alone so observing unidentified objects over USS based particularly over sensitive 14:23 14 minutes, 23 seconds areas of a country is not new now what Marco Rubio was doing there was he was referring to what we all know 14:30 14 minutes, 30 seconds about which is that Arrow the um all domain anomaly resolution office has basically alerted the public the 14:38 14 minutes, 38 seconds Pentagon the Congress to the fact that there are these unexplained unidentified objects over American airspace that are 14:45 14 minutes, 45 seconds being frequently seen by reliable Witnesses military Pilots civilian Pilots they're not explained even though 14:52 14 minutes, 52 seconds there are attempts by agencies such as Ro to try and find a plausible mundane prosaic 15:00 15 minutes explanation for them they're a genuine mystery and in some cases again as Marco Rubio particularly has observed they're 15:09 15 minutes, 9 seconds observed often doing things that are completely outside known terrestrial technology they're doing Hypersonic 15:16 15 minutes, 16 seconds Maneuvers instantaneous course changes you know left-hand turns of thousands of kilometers an hour 15:23 15 minutes, 23 seconds um they've got stealth mode they appear to drop off radar instantaneously without any explanation they're trans medium they go from water to area to 15:31 15 minutes, 31 seconds water even into orbit and perhaps most perplexingly out of all when they put under an AB Fleur Imaging 15:38 15 minutes, 38 seconds system they have no observable infrared signal of heat they're not showing the 15:45 15 minutes, 45 seconds normal exhaust or jet plumes or rocket plumes that you would expect from such a highly propelled aircraft so 15:54 15 minutes, 54 seconds um what fascinated me was that we had this weird game where the media in a kind of a weird acquiescence to the official 16:02 16 minutes, 2 seconds line were constantly trying to dampen down the issue of whether or not there was any 16:09 16 minutes, 9 seconds non-prosaic non-mundane explanation for these objects and at the same time you had people like Senator Marco Rubio 16:17 16 minutes, 17 seconds clearly wanting to raise and engage with the Press on this issue of how you know we've been campaigning in the Congress 16:24 16 minutes, 24 seconds to actually get answers on these other hundreds of anomalous cases that can't be explained and the media did their level best to 16:33 16 minutes, 33 seconds try and giggle and titter their way out of it and and frankly the big lesson from the whole balloon gate Saga is 16:42 16 minutes, 42 seconds it underlined how easily manipulable the media are and that's my brief frankly 16:48 16 minutes, 48 seconds that um that that essentially um they should have asked tougher questions uh the New York Times has 16:55 16 minutes, 55 seconds published one article by um a non-expert non-national security non-defense author who's basically quite 17:02 17 minutes, 2 seconds legitimately said is that it you know it was a great headline you know is that it um you know and that's the explanation 17:09 17 minutes, 9 seconds you get yes even though we said we know what these objects are we really don't and more importantly even though we 17:17 17 minutes, 17 seconds asserted confidently in media briefings to the media that we were going to be able to find these objects you know what we haven't 17:24 17 minutes, 24 seconds and you just have to take our word for it that these objects aren't anomalous and we're not asserting of course that they are anomalous it was the Pentagon 17:33 17 minutes, 33 seconds and the White House National Security advisors that started asserting that it might be anomalous might be extraterrestrial 17:41 17 minutes, 41 seconds um even though they're not asserting that you know the simple fact is they have not been able to provide any explanation for why they've reached the conclusions 17:49 17 minutes, 49 seconds they've reached and shouldn't we know which hobby group lost these should it shouldn't we have 17:56 17 minutes, 56 seconds them identified yeah and if I was the um you know if I was the editor of the LA Times the New York Times or the 18:04 18 minutes, 4 seconds Washington Post and happy to take the gig guys I mean I would basically be telling the investigative team okay 18:12 18 minutes, 12 seconds we now have admissions on the record by the Pentagon you know the most powerful military on 18:20 18 minutes, 20 seconds the planet is admitting it cannot explain anomalous objects in our skies and even though the um the debunkers and 18:29 18 minutes, 29 seconds the Skeptics constantly say oh it's a bird or it's a you know swamp gas or a balloon or something like that one can 18:36 18 minutes, 36 seconds be assured that they've already considered those prosaic non-proza yeah the prosaic explanations the mundane explanations 18:44 18 minutes, 44 seconds they've ruled those out and so then we're left with what the hell is it and so in the media for the first time 18:51 18 minutes, 51 seconds in history had an opportunity to question the president or at least the president's spokeswoman and the National Security advisor or at 19:00 19 minutes least his spokesperson well the general responsible for North American airspace why didn't they 19:07 19 minutes, 7 seconds go to town because you know the one thing in media that you can do as is hunt as a pack and you know and you know 19:16 19 minutes, 16 seconds that when there's a story like this and the government's on the back foot there's a huge opportunity to really push for the truth and I was waiting I 19:25 19 minutes, 25 seconds was waiting during all those press conferences for a moment when the presidential press spokeswoman or the National Security advisor were finally 19:33 19 minutes, 33 seconds asked listen we know that you've got Vision that you're not letting out 19:40 19 minutes, 40 seconds we know that there are many dozens of images and videos of objects that your military has recorded 19:47 19 minutes, 47 seconds and you're doing it to us again in this case you're refusing to release Vision that you say is benign is prosaic and 19:55 19 minutes, 55 seconds capable of mundane explanation well why the [ __ ] should we believe you why can't we see a hobby balloon what's 20:04 20 minutes, 4 seconds classified about that yeah stranger really strange um Chapter 4: Internal power struggles 20:11 20 minutes, 11 seconds I just wanted to move on Ross if you don't mind because it's a point that you made recently that I think a lot of people latched on to was this story of a 20:19 20 minutes, 19 seconds senior Navy Commander becoming aware of the the US Air Force concealing things still and that this Navy 20:27 20 minutes, 27 seconds Commander took this to the White House I just wondered if you were able to expand on this at all can't say much about it to be honest I'm 20:35 20 minutes, 35 seconds aware of it I know it's true and I know that it's part of a broader battle that's been going on between the Pentagon and the White House 20:42 20 minutes, 42 seconds what I can point to is the fact that um it was the White House which is obviously the executive the political 20:50 20 minutes, 50 seconds arm representing Joe Biden that made the political decision to appoint an interagency task force over 20:57 20 minutes, 57 seconds the head of the Pentagon who wanted everything to go through aaro the all domain resolution anomaly resolution office what has to be asked is why did 21:07 21 minutes, 7 seconds that happen hmm so what was it that made the White House start to lose confidence well frankly that's the only interpretation you can make from this 21:15 21 minutes, 15 seconds I was told that yes there is a senior very senior Navy Commander who's come forward and approached the Biden White 21:24 21 minutes, 24 seconds House directly with information that suggests that the Pentagon has not been entirely open about what it knows on the 21:32 21 minutes, 32 seconds subject of uaps that's all I can say for now I'm going to ask would that would that include Legacy programs yeah right okay 21:42 21 minutes, 42 seconds okay I'm going to ask one more detail so are can are we is it safe to assume that this person may have approached someone on the NSC like a staffer that is 21:51 21 minutes, 51 seconds already working on these issues or was it a military attache do we have any any details I can glean out of you 21:58 21 minutes, 58 seconds I know the NSC is aware of it okay thank you I'm not sure who approached who first but I know the NSC is aware of it so someone bumped into 22:07 22 minutes, 7 seconds Jake Sullivan at COSI and gave him the whole I don't know if the approach was made directly to Jake Sullivan 22:16 22 minutes, 16 seconds and apologies to to John Kirby inadvertently and other interviews have been calling John Kirby Jake so confusing when you've got two people 22:24 22 minutes, 24 seconds in the NSC sort of spokespeople roles but um yeah I mean I I uh um 22:31 22 minutes, 31 seconds uh for what it's worth I mean I'm told there is a Schism between the Pentagon and the White House on uaps and it 22:40 22 minutes, 40 seconds largely came out of a complete lack of confidence by the Biden White House in the fact that the Pentagon on its own 22:46 22 minutes, 46 seconds admission turned down the sensitivity of its radar systems so as to not detect certain objects 22:54 22 minutes, 54 seconds go figure if the role of the US military is to protect and defend American airspace a 23:01 23 minutes, 1 second sacred pledge especially after the dishonor of the absolutely egregious intelligence failures that allowed Pearl 23:09 23 minutes, 9 seconds Harbor to happen something I've made a study of and fascinated by it you would think that the American 23:16 23 minutes, 16 seconds Military with all of the technology that it's got at its disposal would make damn sure especially when the Congress has 23:23 23 minutes, 23 seconds prioritized the research into uaps what have they been doing they've been doing their level best to 23:32 23 minutes, 32 seconds sabotage investigation into the issue that's the issue that's what Jake Sullivan's responded to that's what the president's 23:38 23 minutes, 38 seconds responded to and well done to them the government of the United States has finally started listening it's a very 23:47 23 minutes, 47 seconds very positive development and you know what not being picked up of course by any of those tame Lex Bittle 23:54 23 minutes, 54 seconds National Security defense correspondents who are dependent and this is the problem this is the way the media is structured I've been a beneficiary of it 24:02 24 minutes, 2 seconds myself and my time covering National Security issues in my country if you want to get the feed if you want 24:10 24 minutes, 10 seconds to be on the drip you don't rock the boat and that goes for the White House the Pentagon press Corps the 24:17 24 minutes, 17 seconds intelligence press Corps if you're a national security correspondent you have to keep your nose clean you don't upset people you get your stories vetted you 24:26 24 minutes, 26 seconds make sure you're not treading on toes and for years the U.S Air Force in particular has controlled the narrative on uaps 24:34 24 minutes, 34 seconds and what's significant about what's happened with the White House is their appointment of the interagency panel which was something I should underline 24:42 24 minutes, 42 seconds was something that Louis zondo was pushing for years ago you have to ask why has that happened 24:50 24 minutes, 50 seconds and isn't it fascinating that in all the analysis report analysis analysis reports that have come out of the um balloon gate Saga 24:58 24 minutes, 58 seconds you know you've had trite observations from National Security and defense correspondence about how you know we we didn't want to have the radar too 25:07 25 minutes, 7 seconds sensitive because we didn't want to you know pick up all of this anomalous clutter um why why didn't you want to pick it up I mean 25:16 25 minutes, 16 seconds if these things were a threat to navigation as the president's certs was the basis for the decision to shoot them down the three other objects whatever 25:24 25 minutes, 24 seconds they are if these objects did pose a genuine threat to civilian airspace when the Pentagon NORAD command finally started 25:33 25 minutes, 33 seconds detecting them in American airspace why the hell hadn't they been doing that previously and the other thing I would draw your 25:41 25 minutes, 41 seconds attention to that is significant is the fact that the National Security Council spokesperson also noted that the president had been 25:50 25 minutes, 50 seconds seeking briefings on the UAP issue since at least 2021 mm-hmm very interesting that 25:58 25 minutes, 58 seconds now obviously there was a prime opportunity there for the media to then say why right what made him start seeking briefings on 26:07 26 minutes, 7 seconds uaps did you notice how Supine and acquiescent the media press Corps were in the White House Press Room when that 26:14 26 minutes, 14 seconds point was raised by John Kirby not a person who twitched oh my goodness me I've got to get back home and 26:21 26 minutes, 21 seconds you know file my story that I I mean it's just I I don't understand it I mean one of the things that I love about American Media is sometimes they really 26:31 26 minutes, 31 seconds know how to take a story to an issue and and give it guts you know I grew up with stories of people like Woodward and 26:38 26 minutes, 38 seconds Bernstein reporters who were prepared to really go to the line and push a yarn and investigate it 26:46 26 minutes, 46 seconds and what really strikes me is that the corporators the corporatizing of media in the United States has led to a focus far too much on personality and less on 26:55 26 minutes, 55 seconds the actual story yeah there's a story here anybody any journal with this salt knows there's a story behind this 27:05 27 minutes, 5 seconds fact that the White House has overruled effectively its pentagon over its head against its advice 27:12 27 minutes, 12 seconds particularly against the U.S Air Force's advice it's appointed an interagency panel 27:19 27 minutes, 19 seconds why did it do that and why has nobody asked that question yeah Chapter 5: Congressional investigations 27:27 27 minutes, 27 seconds exchange as well because we recently discovered that Ro has been working with three full staff team members which you 27:34 27 minutes, 34 seconds know you assume is Dr Kirkpatrick and two others so they're obviously underfunded understaffed this is a repeat of 27:41 27 minutes, 41 seconds um the UAP task force and aoi MSG it when's it ever going to end when is the funding ever going to happen is it is it 27:49 27 minutes, 49 seconds just are they just trying to take the boxes set out in the National Defense authorization act and push it to the side and hope people forget about it I 27:56 27 minutes, 56 seconds mean it just seems bizarre well I mean I I think to be honest Vinnie I think what it was was that the Pentagon was paying 28:03 28 minutes, 3 seconds lip service up until balloon gate the Pentagon was paying lip service to the demands of the Congress that there be 28:11 28 minutes, 11 seconds some kind of pentagon-based Investigation into this issue and the fact that they had such a 28:18 28 minutes, 18 seconds deriserably small task force of people employed to properly look at this issue many of them working I'm told part-time 28:26 28 minutes, 26 seconds only delegated to this role as part as an adjunct to their normal jobs yep it was a joke 28:34 28 minutes, 34 seconds now the Fantastic thing is that I'm assured I've actually been talking to people who've been in touch with arrow and 28:41 28 minutes, 41 seconds that you know everywhere I go Arrow seems to have been in front as well as the Congressional staffers the oversight committees from the um the armed 28:49 28 minutes, 49 seconds services committee and the intelligence committee there really is some great work being done and an enormous number of people have been approached and asked 28:57 28 minutes, 57 seconds to give evidence most recently of course Bob Salas Robert Salas has given evidence about the nuclear weapons tampering by whatever this anomalous 29:06 29 minutes, 6 seconds objects are um but there are other Witnesses coming forward with more direct evidence 29:12 29 minutes, 12 seconds allegedly reportedly about the program um I've spoken to multiple people who assert that they 29:21 29 minutes, 21 seconds have evidence about the program and I know at least one of them is either or is about to be in touch with 29:28 29 minutes, 28 seconds the congressional committees so it's exciting it's a really interesting time because I think what the balloon gate Saga did for the first 29:37 29 minutes, 37 seconds time was put the issue of unidentified objects over American airspace at the Forefront of the news agenda in a way 29:46 29 minutes, 46 seconds that meant that the White House cannot ignore it and they realized that this truly for all the for all the jaw 29:54 29 minutes, 54 seconds drawing that's been going on about how this is a national security and flight safety threat I think the pentagon's been very readily able to S you know 30:03 30 minutes, 3 seconds hose the whole issue down as quickly as possible and go you know it's not really a national security threat it's not really a flight safety threat 30:11 30 minutes, 11 seconds but now as a result of the um balloon gate Saga we have a situation where the White 30:18 30 minutes, 18 seconds House is prioritizing this as an issue and by golly they are they really are they're putting it right up them and one of the ways they've done that is by 30:27 30 minutes, 27 seconds doing this um appointing this interagency task force and it's done against the wishes of the U.S Air Force 30:35 30 minutes, 35 seconds which is which has been doing in previous months it's level best to push back against Congressional push for transparency 30:43 30 minutes, 43 seconds and I can tell you it's not going to work so those people in the U.S Air Force in particular and the CIA who are trying to hose this whole issue Dan 30:52 30 minutes, 52 seconds they're after you so you've got a choice those officials now have a choice 30:59 30 minutes, 59 seconds they can either decide to come forward and admit what they know or they can be excoriated in the court 31:06 31 minutes, 6 seconds of public opinion for essentially Lawless criminal possibly treasonous Behavior 31:14 31 minutes, 14 seconds I'm serious this is really serious well and you kind of what I find amazing about this is that again the U.S media 31:21 31 minutes, 21 seconds is asleep at the wheel on one of the most significant stories of our time right I mean it's massive it has 31:29 31 minutes, 29 seconds International implications I've had conversations with U.S military officials who talk candidly to me and I 31:36 31 minutes, 36 seconds don't know if it's true or not about a non-human Intelligence on this planet I don't know if that's true I've talked 31:44 31 minutes, 44 seconds with people about Crash retrievals about American government secret reverse engineering programs 31:51 31 minutes, 51 seconds know if that's true but people are saying it is don't you think it's time to stop the 31:58 31 minutes, 58 seconds nonsense and start investigating now if you're the editor of a major national newspaper or a 60 Minutes at 32:06 32 minutes, 6 seconds what point do you get off your fat ass and and start looking I mean I'm sorry I just think it's 32:13 32 minutes, 13 seconds Unforgivable well and you you hinted at something Ross that uh I kind of want to go back to for a second because I think it might 32:21 32 minutes, 21 seconds go above some people's heads you said that you have it on good authority yes that someone might be sharing their 32:29 32 minutes, 29 seconds story with congress with congressional committees are we to then assume you know the the current ndaa legislation does not say 32:39 32 minutes, 39 seconds that individuals with information on these programs can go directly to the Committees this is what it does say 32:47 32 minutes, 47 seconds does say is if a program is confirmed to have been not properly reported to the gang of eight arrow has 72 hours to 32:57 32 minutes, 57 seconds notify those committees so can we properly assume that we have de facto confirmation that this program that 33:04 33 minutes, 4 seconds supposedly is going to be discussed with the congressional committees has been confirmed to have not had proper congressional oversight that is too big 33:13 33 minutes, 13 seconds a stretch and something I can't assert at the moment what I can tell you what I can tell you is that the 33:20 33 minutes, 20 seconds I'm aware of an individual who has no confidence in going to Arrow as is required under the legislation okay and 33:28 33 minutes, 28 seconds who is insisting on speaking directly to the oversight committees 33:34 33 minutes, 34 seconds oh interesting okay and I mean look I I just don't think people realize the significance of this unless there's a 33:43 33 minutes, 43 seconds secret presidential order executive order somewhere down the tracks unless Truman or Eisenhower somewhere 33:50 33 minutes, 50 seconds made an assertion under an executive order that there could be some kind of secret program run to try and back 33:58 33 minutes, 58 seconds engineer this technology and that it could be withheld from the knowledge of the Congress and the knowledge of future presidents the legality of which I think 34:07 34 minutes, 7 seconds would be Highly Questionable is indubitably illegal probably criminal a criminal contempt of 34:14 34 minutes, 14 seconds your Congress and there are individuals in our military right now who might be watching this I hope they are who are probably 34:23 34 minutes, 23 seconds wringing their hands wondering whether or not they should be candid they might be concerned about the fact that I'm understanding that a senior 34:31 34 minutes, 31 seconds Navy Commander has come forward to the White House to reveal what they know you know we're in amazing times and the 34:39 34 minutes, 39 seconds terrible thing is a lot of at the moment is Subterranean it's it's off the front page and sure as hell you're not going to read about it in your newspapers 34:46 34 minutes, 46 seconds because nobody in your newspapers has been allowed to write about the Pentagon because that's the situation we have now 34:53 34 minutes, 53 seconds you have National Security and defense reporters who've just completely lost their spines unfortunately so yeah yeah 35:02 35 minutes, 2 seconds you're not right with all this talk of Legacy programs crash retrievals back engineering and sources coming out saying that these 35:10 35 minutes, 10 seconds people having the conversations we saw George Knapp this week talking about one of his sources this Alfred O'Donnell who worked at EG and G with the name Richard 35:18 35 minutes, 18 seconds D'Amato came back into the conversation but with this whole conversation has or have you heard any inklings of people 35:25 35 minutes, 25 seconds actually discussing the origin of these objects because that just seems to be out of the conversation a lot of the 35:32 35 minutes, 32 seconds time even speculation yeah yeah I mean I I have no leads at all on the origin of the objects I mean I the implicit Chapter 6: Legacy programs and origin 35:40 35 minutes, 40 seconds assumption from everybody that I've spoken to is that they're of non-human origin yeah and so you've got intelligently controlled intelligently 35:48 35 minutes, 48 seconds crafted objects that are not human um you know I have to leave it at that I mean it's funny actually I mean one of 35:56 35 minutes, 56 seconds the things I'm enjoying in between all the excitement about bloomgate is reading Jack fillet's latest volume of his Diaries the Forbidden Science volume 36:03 36 minutes, 3 seconds 5. and um you know I'm I mean it's better than a thriller because you know in previous volumes we've learned about Richard dematto who you mentioned who 36:12 36 minutes, 12 seconds was the he'd had the same job by the way as Christopher Millen on the Senate intelligence committee 30 or 14 years 36:19 36 minutes, 19 seconds ago and he was tasked to investigate whether there was such a legacy program I mean these questions have been asked 36:27 36 minutes, 27 seconds before and even though Mr D'Amato quite honorably is refusing to comment publicly about the issue um it's quite clear from the conversations that he had 36:36 36 minutes, 36 seconds with Jacque Valley at the time and that Jacques for layers Faithfully recorded in his diary that he was 36:43 36 minutes, 43 seconds expressing great frustration and strong suspicion that there was something that was being improperly withheld from the American public and this is my other concern my other 36:52 36 minutes, 52 seconds concern is that everybody seems to assume that if the Congress finds out about it and if the oversight committees are briefed about it that somehow we're 37:00 37 minutes going to get miraculously told about it through some kind of Miracle of transparency and openness and accountability by the US Congress nope I 37:08 37 minutes, 8 seconds strongly doubt it I strongly doubt that I mean the imperative that um Chris Mellon is working towards I understand and he's always been very 37:16 37 minutes, 16 seconds careful about stating this is making sure that whatever is whatever is truly happening is brought within the control and 37:23 37 minutes, 23 seconds oversight of the of the Congress and look let's devil's advocate for a moment if you're the United States and you are 37:33 37 minutes, 33 seconds sitting on awesome technology you know propulsion systems that we've never seen before 37:40 37 minutes, 40 seconds energy systems that are completely revolutionary they are I'm told potential weapons you 37:49 37 minutes, 49 seconds know they do represent a threat in the sense that once the science is understood apparently they could be very readily 37:58 37 minutes, 58 seconds duplicated and some insane extremist Nutter could use them to kill a lot of people so you know I can see the 38:05 38 minutes, 5 seconds rationales for why there might be a need for secrecy about the nature of the technology what I can't see 38:13 38 minutes, 13 seconds any justification for is why we can't be told about the existence of such such Technologies if they exist 38:22 38 minutes, 22 seconds and and that's the issue that's the that's the Nuance I mean at one stage in recent months I was being told uh by 38:28 38 minutes, 28 seconds sources that um there was an effort to constrain the narratives so that at some stage there was going to be an admission 38:36 38 minutes, 36 seconds of a non-human Intelligence on this planet I don't again I emphasize I'm not saying 38:43 38 minutes, 43 seconds I know that that's true but you know obviously there are a lot of people who assert that it is and the the suggestion was being made to me that they would seek to be a 38:51 38 minutes, 51 seconds distinction between acknowledgment of a non-human intelligence and acknowledgment of Crash retrieval and a back engineering program that they'd 38:58 38 minutes, 58 seconds Endeavor to try and keep that secret I still think that's a possibility but I think where we are at the moment is getting very very interesting because 39:07 39 minutes, 7 seconds um we have a bipartisan push in Congress now that's really significant we have a bipartisan push in Congress 39:16 39 minutes, 16 seconds for candor about unidentified objects in our skies there is legislation which has mandated 39:25 39 minutes, 25 seconds that oversight committees be told about things which Katie as you quite rightly observe if they're not properly reported to the gang of eight and just to explain 39:34 39 minutes, 34 seconds to listeners the gang of Aid is a group of people in Congress Senators congressmen who are entrusted with America's most 39:43 39 minutes, 43 seconds valuable Secrets the waived unacknowledged special access programs secrets so secret they can't even be 39:51 39 minutes, 51 seconds disclosed to the full membership of the various committees in Congress and they certainly can't be put in writing and reports and so what they do is they do 40:00 40 minutes oral briefings to the gang of eight in a skiff in a secure facility in the Congress building and 40:07 40 minutes, 7 seconds um funnily enough there's just been a a briefing today to the gang of eight uh on a completely unrelated issue and I was just fascinated to see the gang of 40:15 40 minutes, 15 seconds it being mentioned because it is such a super secret body but um yeah I mean truly if the gang of Aid has not been notified and if there's 40:24 40 minutes, 24 seconds been a breach of the oversight reporting requirements in the Congress in my country and in yours that's a 40:31 40 minutes, 31 seconds serious breach of parliamentary protocol and and Congressional protocol it's a you know to withhold evidence from the 40:38 40 minutes, 38 seconds body which after all is Sovereign in your country I mean it's government of the people for the People by the people 40:45 40 minutes, 45 seconds through the Congress it's not the bloody Pentagon that runs the country you know I mean I I don't get it I really don't 40:52 40 minutes, 52 seconds get it because I studied law as a boy and one of the things that you're drummed into you is the power of the American Constitution you know I've 41:01 41 minutes, 1 second grown up the um the very weak English constitution in Australia and it is it's very weak it doesn't have 41:10 41 minutes, 10 seconds those constitutional protections of freedom of Association freedom of speech all of the freedoms that you have enshrined in your constitutional law 41:18 41 minutes, 18 seconds there's so much that you should be proud of about your accountability and transparency systems in your country 41:26 41 minutes, 26 seconds but if what we're talking about here is true if there really has been the kind of breach of Faith with the American Congress and the American public that 41:35 41 minutes, 35 seconds we're describing there has been the most awful breach of the relationship between the American 41:42 41 minutes, 42 seconds people and their government and that's truly why I suspect it's not being revealed there's no good reason not to talk about it 41:50 41 minutes, 50 seconds sure don't reveal the Technologies don't reveal the details of how these weapons might be able to be manufactured by all 41:59 41 minutes, 59 seconds means you know God I don't want the Russians or the Chinese having these capabilities I'd prefer it was America but I would prefer that it be done for 42:07 42 minutes, 7 seconds the benefit of the whole planet not for the exclusive benefit of certain aerospace companies and a few privileged people in the military who probably get 42:16 42 minutes, 16 seconds directorships and positions in those companies after they've left the military I mean how long has this been going on for and I think the White House is starting 42:24 42 minutes, 24 seconds to ask those questions good no absolutely I think you bring up incredible points and that actually 42:30 42 minutes, 30 seconds brings me to my next question is amidst all of this going on in the U.S of course there's the recognition that this Chapter 7: International UAP efforts 42:38 42 minutes, 38 seconds is not solely a problem that affects my country and assuming that project Titan moves forward as is currently scheduled 42:46 42 minutes, 46 seconds we can expect a proposal submitted to the UN in October um a Committee hearing of some sort 42:53 42 minutes, 53 seconds shortly thereafter and hopefully a un general assembly vote in December and so you know between the three of us here we 43:01 43 minutes, 1 second have three to maybe four for you Ross of the five five eyes represented in this room and so my 43:09 43 minutes, 9 seconds question is when we go to the U.N this is going to be a completely different body of individuals it's not Pentagon officials in the room it's not 43:17 43 minutes, 17 seconds intelligence officials in the room it's un ambassadors and so I'm really curious to hear your opinion on how that is going to go how we might have to adjust 43:26 43 minutes, 26 seconds our approach to make sure that um it is effective and what you see happening in 43:33 43 minutes, 33 seconds the months to come oh boy crystal ball um yeah I don't know about the un thing I 43:41 43 minutes, 41 seconds mean I mean obviously a previous U.N effort failed miserably because it was done through Granada and now it's being done through another very small country 43:48 43 minutes, 48 seconds and I guess the issue is going to boil down to whether the the key votes that have the right of veto are going to veto 43:56 43 minutes, 56 seconds it and uh will the U.S veto a vote in the United Nations um on whether or not you know there should be greater disclosure and 44:04 44 minutes, 4 seconds transparency on uaps we don't yet know what the vote will be actually voting on from the San Marino initiative 44:12 44 minutes, 12 seconds but um again that's a really good question why are the media not asking questions about what it is that is going 44:21 44 minutes, 21 seconds to come out of the San Marino push for some kind of Greater disclosure at the U.N you know why has there not been from the UN coverage that's done by the major 44:29 44 minutes, 29 seconds newspapers in Washington and New York why hasn't there been any effort to actually even give any kind of publicity to the issue 44:37 44 minutes, 37 seconds you know I think we just have to call it for what it is it's not just oversight you know it's supine acquiescence by the 44:46 44 minutes, 46 seconds media who know frankly that if they start asking questions about these issues they get isolated marginalized 44:54 44 minutes, 54 seconds and it's time frankly for the media to start asking questions about that kind of stuff and also I think it's incumbent on the 45:01 45 minutes, 1 second public to actually say look you know I care about this stuff you know get onto your Congressman or your congresswoman or your Senator and 45:09 45 minutes, 9 seconds say look I I'm really interested in this issue I am worried about incursions into American airspace and rightly you should be I mean 45:18 45 minutes, 18 seconds you know it is amazing you know I keep on coming back to the issue that we now know as a result of balloon gate 45:26 45 minutes, 26 seconds that the military of the United States was turning down the sensitivity of its radars 45:34 45 minutes, 34 seconds to avoid predicting things which we now know we're a threat to flight safety yeah makes you feel really good as an 45:43 45 minutes, 43 seconds American you're feeling safe America boy I wouldn't you know I mean I mean you know the amazing thing about it is they let a 45:52 45 minutes, 52 seconds balloon which they knew had come from China and this the breathtaking fact in the media reports that I find absolutely 46:00 46 minutes amazing is it had a payload equivalent to three buses underneath it 46:07 46 minutes, 7 seconds three buses imagine the uh the bombs or the nerve agents or the explosives you could have put on a an object oh we were 46:16 46 minutes, 16 seconds we were Russ we were all imagining it and and the fact that 46:23 46 minutes, 23 seconds the media now aren't asking any further questions about this when the pentagon's saying hey guys Believers you know we know what these objects are but we can't 46:32 46 minutes, 32 seconds tell you of it we can't tell you why we know that you sure as hell can't actually let you interview the pilots we can't let you see the videos and 46:41 46 minutes, 41 seconds um we can't explain why we know this but you've just gotta trust us trust us guys I mean why why should you trust them 46:50 46 minutes, 50 seconds and at what stage does American Media and public officials particularly the politicians start developing a spine and 46:58 46 minutes, 58 seconds start asking questions in in Congress about this you know who's going to take it to them because frankly the lesson of the last 47:06 47 minutes, 6 seconds two weeks since that incident is that as soon as the I think inadequate explanation came out 47:14 47 minutes, 14 seconds that we now surmised these are hobby balloons based on absolutely no evidence whatsoever we now surmise that these are hobby 47:23 47 minutes, 23 seconds balloons we don't have any evidence of any recovery operation or any attempted recovery or any successful recovery but 47:31 47 minutes, 31 seconds police trust us we're very sure that they were probably possibly hobby balloons or some kind of balloon so 47:38 47 minutes, 38 seconds please go away back to your little homes and don't bother us anymore end of story and you know what America bought it 47:48 47 minutes, 48 seconds that that's what worries me about this that the lesson from previous incidents Project Blue Book 47:55 47 minutes, 55 seconds Richard dematto's efforts in the 1970s um the the efforts 55 years ago to get 48:02 48 minutes, 2 seconds some kind of congressional inquiry going under Gerald Ford all of those failed and they'll file it they'll fail again 48:11 48 minutes, 11 seconds if you let them it's as simple as that if America wants to know it has to demand the truth 48:19 48 minutes, 19 seconds this is a unique opportunity and and the only way that that things will happen 48:26 48 minutes, 26 seconds because I mean we've never had I mean okay um if you go right back to the days of Roscoe hillenkotter I mean I love my 48:35 48 minutes, 35 seconds history I mean I'm sorry I'll just indulge me here for a moment I mean of course you had the founding director of the CIA Roscoe hillenkaha a man who at 48:45 48 minutes, 45 seconds one stage was in a command position on one of your greatest battleships in the World War II one of the most respected military officials in the U.S military 48:54 48 minutes, 54 seconds a man entrusted with all of the secrets who'd actually presided over a lot of the early cover-ups uh involving you 49:01 49 minutes, 1 second know uaps who came out and helped found an organization called nicap one of the 49:08 49 minutes, 8 seconds early UAP UFO advocacy organizations for transparency and he made it very very clear he believed had been a cover-up 49:16 49 minutes, 16 seconds so what goes around comes around these things have happened before public officials are spoken at before I don't think there's ever been the 49:25 49 minutes, 25 seconds degree of official Candor including from former presidents who are intimating very very strongly 49:33 49 minutes, 33 seconds that there's something to this right and I don't know I mean I I I know a lot of people think that the push is going to 49:41 49 minutes, 41 seconds come from Congress but frankly congressmen congresswoman they don't really do anything until the public 49:49 49 minutes, 49 seconds tells them they need to be reassured that this is an issue of primary public concern and I don't think they're seeing 49:56 49 minutes, 56 seconds that right now and the lesson from balloon gate is just how easy it is to hose the whole thing done by using ridicule I mean what media person wanted 50:05 50 minutes, 5 seconds to continue to push to investigate this issue when press conferences were told that you know hey guys you know don't make a fool of yourself these are 50:14 50 minutes, 14 seconds probably just hobby balloons but even then they should have seen the blood in the water because you've got a president of the United States that 50:21 50 minutes, 21 seconds ordered attacks on hobby Balloons with four hundred thousand dollar missiles seriously and if we knew all these 50:29 50 minutes, 29 seconds objects hundreds of these objects are intervening into American airspace all the time why did we bring these particular objects done there are basic 50:37 50 minutes, 37 seconds questions that need to be asked and frankly nobody's asking them that's my point Chapter 8: Military and security gaps 50:44 50 minutes, 44 seconds yeah on a separate note as well we've had the conversation recently about these UAP appearing in active War zones 50:52 50 minutes, 52 seconds as well this is another thing that's considerably worrying if these things are happening what's your take on all of that well I mean let's start with that 51:01 51 minutes, 1 second there's the mosul orb yeah I mean I've been briefed by somebody who'd seen that video in one of the Congressional briefings and they told me it was an 51:09 51 minutes, 9 seconds amazing image and it's part of a video and the video is even more interesting now I think um Jeremy and um Jeremy 51:18 51 minutes, 18 seconds Corbell and Georgia Knapp have made the decision probably quite properly that they don't want to reveal too much about the methods and the capabilities of U.S 51:25 51 minutes, 25 seconds reconnaissance systems by showing the video but what they do show is quite profound and you know I've more than verified The 51:34 51 minutes, 34 seconds Bona fides of that video it's not a puddle of water as some idiot speculated online um it's an option that flew through the 51:43 51 minutes, 43 seconds viewfinder of the camera on the spy plane and it's one of multiple such objects that have been detected across the Middle East 51:51 51 minutes, 51 seconds and I can tell you that Australian military pilots on deployment in the Middle East have had similar sightings 51:58 51 minutes, 58 seconds unexplained which they've reported to the commanders and been ignored I mean at what stage do you engage with with 52:07 52 minutes, 7 seconds issues like that uh what stage does the media go excuse me Mr President we know that you're talking about 52:14 52 minutes, 14 seconds what you say are just balloons in American airspace but there's a lesson from this the lesson from this is that yet again 22 years after 9 11. 52:27 52 minutes, 27 seconds there has been another egregious intelligence failure that allowed breaches by unidentified 52:33 52 minutes, 33 seconds objects into American airspace you know how do you know sir that those objects that were sent up 52:41 52 minutes, 41 seconds weren't testing the capabilities of American radar sensor systems is it only because of the focus of good 52:51 52 minutes, 51 seconds men like Christopher melon and Louis zondo on revealing the ridiculous failures by the U.S intelligence 52:59 52 minutes, 59 seconds community in the military in deploying resources to properly investigate uaps is it only because of their Noble efforts before the Congress to actually 53:07 53 minutes, 7 seconds make sure that there be data collection that starts looking at this issue that you actually for the first time looked 53:15 53 minutes, 15 seconds properly and started picking up objects that you now admit you always knew were there all the time which do pose a flight safety risk because you shot them 53:22 53 minutes, 22 seconds down now I would have thought that one of the great interviewers of American television would have had a ball putting 53:31 53 minutes, 31 seconds the National Security advisor or the Pentagon General I've forgotten his name General van kuwick 53:38 53 minutes, 38 seconds what's his name General van hurk Glenn Van Hook why in God's name when people had the opportunity to question these people didn't they ask them questions 53:47 53 minutes, 47 seconds like that isn't what we're talking about here sir I'm absolutely appalling intelligence failure Chris melon's been 53:55 53 minutes, 55 seconds talking about the potential for uaps to be another Pearl Harbor or another Spanish event he's been proved right 54:03 54 minutes, 3 seconds so why isn't the American Media why isn't some Brave Congressman congresswoman taking this issue and running with it 54:12 54 minutes, 12 seconds I I I I don't get it I really don't I mean because I mean it really should be a subject at the Forefront of American 54:19 54 minutes, 19 seconds concern because we now know that there have been illegal incursions of American airspace by objects to even the American 54:26 54 minutes, 26 seconds Military admits it doesn't know what they are how do we know that there isn't some Nation that's been surveilling your 54:34 54 minutes, 34 seconds airspace with ill intention we don't we don't and and what's the point of spending trillions of dollars 54:43 54 minutes, 43 seconds on the world's most powerful military if it can't defend American airspace I mean I don't know I mean I care about that issued I'm not even an American 54:52 54 minutes, 52 seconds I love you guys you know you're our Ally we've fought wars together since World War One I mean for God's sake 54:59 54 minutes, 59 seconds wake up rattle the cage the one thing that I admire about America is it's a country that has a history of 55:07 55 minutes, 7 seconds questioning probing digging what has happened in the last 10 to 20 55:14 55 minutes, 14 seconds years to stop people from feeling that they can challenge authority it's not a bad thing to take a question to a political leader if you're sitting at a 55:23 55 minutes, 23 seconds press conference you don't have to be subservient and and submissive your job as a journalist is to ask 55:31 55 minutes, 31 seconds questions that are often making that person uncomfortable right and frankly it's fun 55:41 55 minutes, 41 seconds well and you know as some of our closest allies you know is there is there a role to play for some Ally to 55:50 55 minutes, 50 seconds Ally conversations about this you know you mentioned that some Australian troops are having similar experiences 55:58 55 minutes, 58 seconds you know is this something that you think we need to be addressing at the five eyes level more closely well I mean I can tell you I know from 56:05 56 minutes, 5 seconds my own sources that there's already extensive data sharing on uaps between the five eyes Nations whatever they say public and I mean we have a we have a 56:14 56 minutes, 14 seconds chief of Defense Force who's given evidence to a parliamentary committee that look frankly I think at best is disingenuous because 56:21 56 minutes, 21 seconds I know what they know and and they're not being entirely candid with the Australian public or the Australian Parliament and so we have a 56:29 56 minutes, 29 seconds really interesting situation where um I know that officers have been orally briefed on what they call uncorrelated 56:37 56 minutes, 37 seconds targets why the decision is made to not put these reports in writing why the decision is made to compartmentalize 56:46 56 minutes, 46 seconds that information in such a way that senior people in command Authority may not necessarily know about them is entirely up to them but I I know for 56:55 56 minutes, 55 seconds a fact that there's been a cozy intelligence sharing issue going on between the five eyes Nations for many years on this issue and it's also with countries like France 57:04 57 minutes, 4 seconds which isn't a member of the five eyes right countries like Brazil you know countries all around the world including even Russia in the good days 57:12 57 minutes, 12 seconds after the comic War you know if you read the British condyn report that Vinnie will know well which was a report commissioned by the British government 57:20 57 minutes, 20 seconds to actually look at the UAP issue the extent of intelligence sharing after the end of the Cold War in 1989 1990 57:28 57 minutes, 28 seconds revealed that right through the Cold War the Americans thought these objects were the Russians and the Russians thought these objects were the Americans and then everybody realized when the war 57:37 57 minutes, 37 seconds came down that it wasn't and there was a degree of collaboration in those early days where as George Knapp's stories in the united in the 57:46 57 minutes, 46 seconds USSR revealed Russian officials were really candid that they'd been investigating these UFOs there was a huge investigation by the Russians 57:55 57 minutes, 55 seconds and so I think it's not just a five eyes issue it's an international issue and they're funnily enough that's an issue that I noted um Marco Rubio made the 58:05 58 minutes, 5 seconds point about you know um he came out of the briefing and he said you know this isn't a briefing this isn't an issue just for the United States this is an international issue 58:13 58 minutes, 13 seconds and you know when the media are being told that sort of stuff why why do they just accept it I mean 58:21 58 minutes, 21 seconds seeing as Chris melon has been proved right and frankly he would know because you know he was a senior staff who were 58:30 58 minutes, 30 seconds the Senate intelligence committee and his youth he went on to become a an under secretary for defense intelligence and security uh later on 58:39 58 minutes, 39 seconds um you know the the statement that he gave has asserted that the Navy has been notably helpful in investigating the UAP 58:48 58 minutes, 48 seconds issue and he flatly asserts that the Air Force has remained notably unhelpful if not hostile to inquiries on the subject 58:57 58 minutes, 57 seconds not if I was the Biden White House I would read a statement like that and say we want to know more about that what do you 59:05 59 minutes, 5 seconds mean sir and then if they didn't get an adequate answer they'd go to the Air Force and they'd say what the hell is going on you 59:14 59 minutes, 14 seconds guys know yeah and why I mean frankly why does the American public put up with a situation where certain arms of the military or 59:23 59 minutes, 23 seconds the intelligence Services behave like near The Sovereign government of the United States they're answerable to your Congress 59:31 59 minutes, 31 seconds and the evidence would suggest that individuals within certain military agencies have sought to subvert 59:39 59 minutes, 39 seconds the accountability controls that The Sovereign arm of your nation the Congress have traditionally imposed to make sure 59:48 59 minutes, 48 seconds that money is spent in the right places this is why this matters this is such a serious issue you know I mean no 59:56 59 minutes, 56 seconds disrespect to your country when I say I'm truly shocked at how your infrastructure is falling apart in your country you know roads are falling out 1:00:03 1 hour, 3 seconds yeah I mean I Learned to Drive slowly in certain States because yeah potholes as large as cars 1:00:12 1 hour, 12 seconds you know things aren't being built and a large part of it is because so much money is going into your military and intelligence community and in some cases 1:00:20 1 hour, 20 seconds quite rightly because of the lessons of 9 11. but you had incidents where you know shortly 1:00:28 1 hour, 28 seconds um shortly before the most recent Gulf War you know we were hearing from a defense secretary that um 1:00:35 1 hour, 35 seconds uh trillion a trillion dollars was missing in the U.S defense budget you know oh you want to get into the 1:00:43 1 hour, 43 seconds Pentagon audits that's a whole other podcast with an announcement yet again it's almost become a um a ritual of Passage 1:00:51 1 hour, 51 seconds that every year the government Accounting Office makes the observation that they were unable to reconcile the audit for the defense department of the 1:00:59 1 hour, 59 seconds United States oh yeah why you know why when you can't pay the 1:01:06 1 hour, 1 minute, 6 seconds bills for your own roads when you've got a Health Care system that is an absolute catastrophe you know when you've got a homeless epidemic on the streets of your 1:01:14 1 hour, 1 minute, 14 seconds major cities why are people not asking why their military is given such latitude 1:01:23 1 hour, 1 minute, 23 seconds I mean I have lots of thoughts about it but this isn't about me I mean I I think I think in the in the US you know we 1:01:31 1 hour, 1 minute, 31 seconds have we have such a reverence for the military and I think in some situations that's um turned into an unwillingness to 1:01:37 1 hour, 1 minute, 37 seconds question you know which can be very very problematic and I think you properly pointed out so my question is when are you going to come over here and help Chapter 9: The future of journalism 1:01:46 1 hour, 1 minute, 46 seconds whip some of these U.S yeah I mean I'd love to I mean the the um 1:01:54 1 hour, 1 minute, 54 seconds I mean I would love nothing more than to be in charge of an investigative team that deploy and I can assure you that 1:02:03 1 hour, 2 minutes, 3 seconds one of the things that is a joy to be part of is when a media organization smells blood in the water and deploys a team of fine investigative 1:02:12 1 hour, 2 minutes, 12 seconds journalists to start digging into an issue I'm really proud to have been involved in some fantastic investigations and I'm part of a 1:02:20 1 hour, 2 minutes, 20 seconds a collaborative group called icij The International Consortium of investigative journalists that was set up by a guy called Chuck 1:02:28 1 hour, 2 minutes, 28 seconds Lewis who is the former 60 Minutes producer who um who persuaded the guy who blew the 1:02:36 1 hour, 2 minutes, 36 seconds whistle on big tobacco you know The Insider it led to The Insider movie and and you know I've I've met some of 1:02:43 1 hour, 2 minutes, 43 seconds your greatest journalists in your country and it's a privilege to know fantastic media you know you've got a 1:02:50 1 hour, 2 minutes, 50 seconds fantastic media over there but the problem is as is happening in my country um 1:02:57 1 hour, 2 minutes, 57 seconds the media institutions that we've traditionally entrusted to investigate things like Watergate or Iran Contra or 1:03:05 1 hour, 3 minutes, 5 seconds BCCI or shocking scandals you know in American politic they don't have the resources anymore to 1:03:13 1 hour, 3 minutes, 13 seconds do the kind of dig that we're talking about and it's funny because everybody seems to be waiting for somebody else to start asking the questions and start 1:03:21 1 hour, 3 minutes, 21 seconds doing the Dig you know we're obsessed with the January 6 Insurgency which is Frank Frankly I mean why do we need an inquiry to know that there was an 1:03:29 1 hour, 3 minutes, 29 seconds Insurgency you know conspiracy was coming down the government of the United States imagine if those resources actually been spent on investigating 1:03:36 1 hour, 3 minutes, 36 seconds what we're all talking about here you know yeah there's been ample evidence provided by officials former 1:03:45 1 hour, 3 minutes, 45 seconds and serving to suggest that there has been the most egregious breach of Faith with the American public possibly illegal 1:03:53 1 hour, 3 minutes, 53 seconds it's time it was investigated it's time to put people on the back foot instead asking questions 1:04:00 1 hour, 4 minutes and and the the problem is this is happening at a time when media organizations are being gutted when the first thing to go is investigative 1:04:07 1 hour, 4 minutes, 7 seconds journalism uh it's very sad because um you know once great institutions I don't 1:04:14 1 hour, 4 minutes, 14 seconds think a Woodward and Bernstein Watergate style inquiry would be allowed to happen today that's the tragedy I mean the wash post is a great newspaper and Jeff Bezos is 1:04:23 1 hour, 4 minutes, 23 seconds funding it well but um I do question with her with the nature of the security constraints that are 1:04:31 1 hour, 4 minutes, 31 seconds imposed on media these days it would even be possible to do that kind of a story I mean the level of surveillance of media the the level of antagonism of 1:04:40 1 hour, 4 minutes, 40 seconds media who ask questions legitimate questions about National Security I mean look at um there's a friend of mine James risen who who asked 1:04:48 1 hour, 4 minutes, 48 seconds legitimate questions revealing the illegality of certain NSA operations against the American public with mass wiretapping 1:04:57 1 hour, 4 minutes, 57 seconds I mean I think the part of the problem was that a large part of the American public didn't understand the significance of what was being explained here but you know one of the most 1:05:05 1 hour, 5 minutes, 5 seconds powerful weapons that can be deployed against any group of individuals is surveillance of their Communications what are they saying what are they 1:05:13 1 hour, 5 minutes, 13 seconds hearing and you know you have the most incredible powerful agencies in your government and I've met good people in those 1:05:22 1 hour, 5 minutes, 22 seconds agencies who respect and understand particularly the NSA by the way who respect and understand that there are rules that they have to abide by 1:05:30 1 hour, 5 minutes, 30 seconds the big lesson from things like the um countable Pro incidents where the CIA 1:05:39 1 hour, 5 minutes, 39 seconds was caught in the 1970s doing grossly illegal things you know that was revealed by the Congress 1:05:46 1 hour, 5 minutes, 46 seconds you know the uh the appalling Revelations that came out of the Iran Contra inquiry where you know essentially sections of the U.S 1:05:55 1 hour, 5 minutes, 55 seconds intelligence Community was subverting the will of the Congress in order to um deliver arms to the contrast to fight 1:06:03 1 hour, 6 minutes, 3 seconds a war against the allegedly communist sandinisters um do Americans care about those things 1:06:11 1 hour, 6 minutes, 11 seconds that they should and they should care about any breaches or illegalities in relation to the issue of uaps and and 1:06:19 1 hour, 6 minutes, 19 seconds that's why it's so important it's why it's so important that the oversight committees be properly informed and I can tell you they're doing a really good 1:06:27 1 hour, 6 minutes, 27 seconds job and there is a possibility that there may be public hearings um doubtful but you know there's a possibility 1:06:35 1 hour, 6 minutes, 35 seconds and there are good people coming forward I I know some of them and they're if they tell me if they tell the Congress 1:06:42 1 hour, 6 minutes, 42 seconds what they've told me it's game over really that's encouraging I like that 1:06:52 1 hour, 6 minutes, 52 seconds so Russ listen I'm very conscious of time and I know we're limited here but are you able to tell us if you're working on anything with seven news or 1:06:59 1 hour, 6 minutes, 59 seconds any plans for 2023 to see you back on the on the screen well as you know Bryce zable and I are doing the need to know 1:07:06 1 hour, 7 minutes, 6 seconds vodcast on and we've got another one coming next week and that'll be done in conjunction with 7 News uh Australia and 1:07:13 1 hour, 7 minutes, 13 seconds it's going to be another Spotlight special and uh what I will tell you is that it's it's quite incredible Revelations 1:07:22 1 hour, 7 minutes, 22 seconds from Bryce's experience in Hollywood oh more information about the way the Pentagon 1:07:31 1 hour, 7 minutes, 31 seconds plays with the media and tries to manipulate what you're told in your movies and in your media 1:07:38 1 hour, 7 minutes, 38 seconds and there's also going to be a very interesting story about what 1:07:46 1 hour, 7 minutes, 46 seconds really happened when a very very senior government official was briefed allegedly 1:07:55 1 hour, 7 minutes, 55 seconds about the program wow so that's coming up that'll be coming up on need to know in about a 1:08:03 1 hour, 8 minutes, 3 seconds week's time and uh at the same time I'm also cracking the whip on myself because I I've been I'm honored that harpercollins 1:08:11 1 hour, 8 minutes, 11 seconds USA are really Keen to do a update a new edition of my book in plain sight and that will be released onto the American 1:08:19 1 hour, 8 minutes, 19 seconds Market I think in July August and I am writing that right now and frantically trying to get the final 1:08:28 1 hour, 8 minutes, 28 seconds draft ready by the end of next week which is the time they've given me to do it um and uh that's underway at the moment as 1:08:36 1 hour, 8 minutes, 36 seconds well and um in the middle of all of that I am dealing on an almost daily basis with an absolute Avalanche of material 1:08:44 1 hour, 8 minutes, 44 seconds that just comes in the door every day I mean one of the reasons I get so frustrated about the um 1:08:52 1 hour, 8 minutes, 52 seconds disinterest of the American media and the UAP issue is because it's if you look if you just turn over a 1:08:59 1 hour, 8 minutes, 59 seconds rock and start looking it's such a bloody good story I mean I I so many good people approaching me with solid 1:09:06 1 hour, 9 minutes, 6 seconds information you don't you don't need to get into the woo to find a good yarn in this area I mean one thing I've got at the moment is an 1:09:14 1 hour, 9 minutes, 14 seconds Australian astronomer who's sent me like gigabytes of data where he 1:09:21 1 hour, 9 minutes, 21 seconds has observed through his telescopes weird objects in orbit that are doing 1:09:30 1 hour, 9 minutes, 30 seconds things I cannot explain and the irony is is that what he's showing me is stuff that I've been sent by other people around the world 1:09:39 1 hour, 9 minutes, 39 seconds and so you know the the thing I feel quite privileged and honored about is that people are entrusting me as a journalist with 1:09:46 1 hour, 9 minutes, 46 seconds with information that I I feel Duty banned to investigate and um I'm just trying to find a way of funding and 1:09:54 1 hour, 9 minutes, 54 seconds resourcing those investigations because I truly believe like never before there's such a desperate need for 1:10:02 1 hour, 10 minutes, 2 seconds rigorous objective analysis and investigation and skepticism and it's not being done by mainstream 1:10:11 1 hour, 10 minutes, 11 seconds media but rather than waiting for mainstream media to do it you know it shows like yours Vinnie and Katie that that are actually the the 1:10:21 1 hour, 10 minutes, 21 seconds forward new end of New Media that are actually asking these questions and and 1:10:27 1 hour, 10 minutes, 27 seconds um you know you may not feel like it but you are the Vanguard of the new media that have to Probe on this issue and the 1:10:35 1 hour, 10 minutes, 35 seconds reason why you get the ratings you do the reason why you have the audience you have is because whether you believe it or not you add a new journalists of your 1:10:44 1 hour, 10 minutes, 44 seconds Generation The Legacy Media has dropped the ball on this issue they've failed and sooner or later they're going to be 1:10:51 1 hour, 10 minutes, 51 seconds incredibly embarrassed that they didn't follow the subject matter more aggressively but all credit to you guys for asking the questions and digging for 1:10:59 1 hour, 10 minutes, 59 seconds the answers I appreciate the photo confidence yeah thank you for coming in and helping us 1:11:06 1 hour, 11 minutes, 6 seconds to try to unsport some of those Yarns like you said great great to see you again Vinnie and great to meet you Katie 1:11:13 1 hour, 11 minutes, 13 seconds you're quite a hard question you had me on the back foot glad to hear it glad to hear that's why 1:11:20 1 hour, 11 minutes, 20 seconds I'm here absolutely Ross thank you so much um I know you're a busy man can't wait for all the stuff that you've got working that you're working on to come 1:11:29 1 hour, 11 minutes, 29 seconds out and I'm sure it'll be very popular but yeah thank you so much real pleasure and thank you thank you to you and your 1:11:36 1 hour, 11 minutes, 36 seconds audience bye take care
