And you see these two orbike uh objects moving in different directions, changing course, and some of them appear to be going under the water and above the 0:08 8 seconds water. And there seems to be no no impeding impedment to their travel, which is very odd. We have not engineered anything that can do that. 0:16 16 seconds Seeing technology of unknown origin and potentially operated by nonhuman intelligence, that that to me is enough excitement. So we don't need thousand 0:25 25 seconds knots or miles per hour travel to make at least me interested. It's just obvious the administration's 0:32 32 seconds trying to keep something covered up. Uh and and and they're not really doing what they're saying. At least Trump when he says, "I'm going to release everything about aliens and 0:40 40 seconds extraterrestrials." I I think he's just making a mockery of it all. And uh and it's that's too bad. Chapter 2: Why the ocean matters to the UAP mystery 0:53 53 seconds All right. Hey everybody, welcome back to Unveiled. I'm here once again at contact in the desert and joining me is Tim Galedet. It's great to speak with you again. Happy to see you today. 1:03 1 minute, 3 seconds Glad to see you, Rob. Uh so Tim of course is an oceanographer and retired US Navy rear admiral. And so um your 1:11 1 minute, 11 seconds field of interest within the UAP realm is primarily around um oceanbased UAPs. Correct. 1:18 1 minute, 18 seconds Yeah, that's an area I specifically look into, but I also talk generally about government policies. worked in the 1:26 1 minute, 26 seconds federal government for 36 years and that's a lot of my focus is trying to influence that policy towards controlled disclosure. 1:33 1 minute, 33 seconds Very important. Um when most people think about UAPs, they probably think about the sky first, but why is the 1:41 1 minute, 41 seconds ocean such an important part of this puzzle? 1:44 1 minute, 44 seconds Right. Well, first off, we have observed them being military ships and citizens uh UFOs going in and out of the ocean. 1:52 1 minute, 52 seconds And I've talked to former military submarine officers who have seen objects on sonar moving faster than anything we 2:00 2 minutes have seen or own or operate. And so so anomalous objects underwater. So those are two data points to say okay they're 2:07 2 minutes, 7 seconds in the ocean too. And then uh and then but think about the fact that most of the ocean is unexplored. 10% of the 2:15 2 minutes, 15 seconds ocean volume has been monitored with drones and remotely operated vehicles and only about uh 27% of the sea floor 2:23 2 minutes, 23 seconds has been mapped to modern standards. So that's a large chunk of the ocean bottom and volume that we know nothing about. 2:30 2 minutes, 30 seconds And we know that UAP tend to want to basically remain mostly unhidden and that the their interactions with people 2:38 2 minutes, 38 seconds are somewhat subdued. And you know there's nothing landing on the White House lawn right now saying we want to have a relationship. So when you combine 2:46 2 minutes, 46 seconds those those data points all together, it points to the fact that where are they where are they occupying most of their time when they're not being observed by individuals? Well, it might very well be the ocean. 2:56 2 minutes, 56 seconds Do you see the ocean as more of a convenient hiding spot for them or is it more of like a base of operations in your opinion? 3:04 3 minutes, 4 seconds Well, right. I don't know. We don't know. At least at unclassified level and I've been never read into any UAP programs when I was did have I do have 3:12 3 minutes, 12 seconds clearance and did have it in the government. I I know none of none of that has been released or acknowledged to me about operating bases or or even Chapter 3: Is ocean exploration harder than space travel? 3:21 3 minutes, 21 seconds their operation and observation in the ocean. But so so I can't say I know with certainty, but again that's what I just lined up for you is there there is a 3:28 3 minutes, 28 seconds likelihood and a line of thought that that's could be where they they are and reside. And if that's the case, then we should be monitoring our oceans much more. 3:38 3 minutes, 38 seconds Is it more difficult to monitor the oceans than it is to monitor the sky? 3:41 3 minutes, 41 seconds Uh yeah, 100%. by the way, because I know ocean explorers who've been in submersibles and of course my wife is a Navy Navy diving officer and I am a 3:50 3 minutes, 50 seconds scuba diver and ocean conditions are are even even more I think challenging than space. So first of all we again know 3:59 3 minutes, 59 seconds little about the ocean. We've mapped the surface of moon the moon and Mars to a higher resolution than the seafloor of our ocean. Two it's it's just a very 4:06 4 minutes, 6 seconds difficult uh region to operate because of the pressure and and then ocean currents. There's there's weather in the ocean just like in the atmosphere with 4:15 4 minutes, 15 seconds currents and of course sea state and and tides and and then the seabed has a lot of dynamics with respect to what they call play tectonic. So it's a very 4:23 4 minutes, 23 seconds hazardous place to operate and be and and that's why submarine training is is is so exacting. Uh there's a really 4:31 4 minutes, 31 seconds interesting uh story it's in my book by the way. I have a book coming out. 4:34 4 minutes, 34 seconds called Holding Fast in Heavy Seas and it's just my leadership journey both in the federal government and then after as I work in this whole UAP space and what 4:43 4 minutes, 43 seconds in that book I tell a story about meeting Scott Carpenter who was a NASA astronaut and he's famous because he was not only an astronaut going into space 4:51 4 minutes, 51 seconds but he was also an aquinaut on the sea lab missions in I think the late60s and I asked him I had a chance to meet him and I asked him a question about how he 5:00 5 minutes compared exploration in space compared to the ocean and He he said that it was night and day. He says space, you know, the missions are over in a flash. You're 5:08 5 minutes, 8 seconds on a rocket, blasts off, everything's very exciting and dramatic. And he and he kind of contrasted that with the ocean. And he had these long weeks, 5:17 5 minutes, 17 seconds these weeks long missions in in the sea lab under pressure and things break in the ocean and things broke on sea lab 5:25 5 minutes, 25 seconds and he just said it was very difficult and demanding. Yeah, you hear that also with um you know the the life that you find in the ocean like people can 5:33 5 minutes, 33 seconds describe some creatures as alien because you know it's it is um an environment that is very difficult to live in deep 5:41 5 minutes, 41 seconds ocean uh with all that pressure and everything and so it's interesting that you make those parallels to space because there are so many mysteries and 5:48 5 minutes, 48 seconds unknowns associated with our our ocean you know not just related to to UAP but also like sea life and and and different things. Chapter 4: What “transmedium” UAP really means 5:56 5 minutes, 56 seconds Absolutely. In fact, when I was the acting administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, that's Noah, America's top ocean agency, 6:05 6 minutes, 5 seconds we were finding new species in the ocean every year. And some of them weren't just little microbes, they were large coral colonies that had never been 6:12 6 minutes, 12 seconds discovered. In one instance in Antarctica, we discovered a new species of killer whale. Uh, think about that. That's a that's what they call megapana. 6:21 6 minutes, 21 seconds And here hiding in the Antarctic and never before seen by humans. 6:25 6 minutes, 25 seconds Wow. So the term trans medium gets thrown around a lot when it comes to UAPs. What does that mean exactly? 6:33 6 minutes, 33 seconds Well, yeah. So your colleague Darcy Weir made this fantastic production I was proud to be a part of and trans medium was in the title and that just refers to 6:41 6 minutes, 41 seconds and this is interesting uh objects going from atmosphere to the ocean and back or or even space to the atmosphere. So you 6:48 6 minutes, 48 seconds have different mediums that these craft obviously can operate in and we don't have technology that can do that very 6:54 6 minutes, 54 seconds well. In fact, the recent Pentagon UFO file release included this very interesting video of a submarine, and 7:01 7 minutes, 1 second you see these two orbike uh objects moving in different directions, changing course, and some of them appear to be going under the water and above the 7:10 7 minutes, 10 seconds water, and there seems to be no no impeding impediment to their travel, which is very odd. We have not engineered anything that can do that. 7:18 7 minutes, 18 seconds So, that that's another characteristic of UAP that we're just only beginning to discover. 7:23 7 minutes, 23 seconds Right. And so you mentioned those u UFO document releases from the Pentagon. 7:29 7 minutes, 29 seconds Those two seem to be much more focused on aerial phenomena than you know sea phenomena. Um is there a reason for 7:37 7 minutes, 37 seconds that? Is that just because it is so much more difficult to document um like UAPs underwater or around the water? like why 7:45 7 minutes, 45 seconds do you think there's a lack of representation for those types of of Well, I don't know because it's only been a few files released and I was not 7:52 7 minutes, 52 seconds involved in the decision- making and and I personally don't think that uh that effort so far is really forthcoming. All 8:00 8 minutes the metadata is redacted. Uh we're not really getting information that's going to help us say one thing or another. Chapter 5: Why Pentagon releases focus on aerial UAP 8:07 8 minutes, 7 seconds Certainly nothing conclusive. uh and but ultimately most of the data for undersea systems and so objects under the water those those systems just like spy 8:16 8 minutes, 16 seconds satellites are highly classified. I I do not expect us to release anything about underwater UFOs uh at least data uh in 8:25 8 minutes, 25 seconds the near future if ever because submarine operations are so tightly classified and that's a area of of military dominance we do not want to 8:34 8 minutes, 34 seconds lose. So how do we go about studying this phenomena in the water if it's attached to so much classified 8:41 8 minutes, 41 seconds information? Is it something that needs to be done by third parties? Yeah. So well shoot there. So just because 8:48 8 minutes, 48 seconds submarines uh are are class all their work is classified in their data. Uh again I was I was in charge of Noah. We 8:55 8 minutes, 55 seconds have ships and we have submersibles and remotely operated vehicles that are out underway in our oceans uh monitoring and 9:02 9 minutes, 2 seconds discovering new new new science. And so that that's what I've recommended. I've recommended that our our ocean agencies being Noah and the Naval Oceanographic 9:11 9 minutes, 11 seconds Office and potentially the Office of Naval Intelligence use all their assets, at least the unclassified ones, to not 9:19 9 minutes, 19 seconds just look at ocean science, but add UAP or USOS to their list of scientific objectives. In fact, I've written the 9:26 9 minutes, 26 seconds White House several times, the Office of Science and Technology Policy. The current director of that is Michael Catios and he was chief technology 9:35 9 minutes, 35 seconds officer during Trump's first term and I work with him closely to advance a number of ocean S&T initiatives that we led and now I've written letters to him 9:43 9 minutes, 43 seconds to advocate for that for ocean uh for UAPs and and specifically UAPs in the oceans to be a national research 9:50 9 minutes, 50 seconds objective and priority. Uh he's not written me back. Uh we'll again see what Trump really does with respect to policy 9:58 9 minutes, 58 seconds changes. Uh and if if he if he if he means what he says, he's going to make UAP research a top priority and Chapter 6: Studying USOs despite classified military data 10:06 10 minutes, 6 seconds articulate that in a an executive order, I would hope. Um, we tend to focus on 10:12 10 minutes, 12 seconds the more dramatic pieces of evidence, I think, and that would include UAPs that exhibit that transmedium capability, 10:20 10 minutes, 20 seconds like going into the water, coming out of the water, but um are those kind of overemphasized? Should we we be looking 10:28 10 minutes, 28 seconds at um perhaps less uh less dramatic footage of UAPs staying in a single 10:36 10 minutes, 36 seconds place for prolonged periods of time underwater um exhibiting different types of behavior that aren't as exciting maybe to the average person? Well, yes. 10:44 10 minutes, 44 seconds I I think all instances of observations at UAP are interesting and not necessarily dramat dramatic or or otherwise really seeing technology of 10:53 10 minutes, 53 seconds unknown origin and potentially operated by nonhuman intelligence that that to me is enough excitement. So we don't need 11:00 11 minutes thousand knots of or miles per hour travel to make at least me interested. 11:06 11 minutes, 6 seconds What kind of data is the most useful for tracking UAPs underwater? um like for example sonar, radar, like what type of 11:14 11 minutes, 14 seconds information is is actually of most value. 11:17 11 minutes, 17 seconds Well, anything that can help us understand their nature better in terms of their movement and and the and how they do it, the engineering behind it. 11:25 11 minutes, 25 seconds So, any data is valuable in terms of their speed. For example, I've talked to three sub former submarine officers who've seen objects exceeding 80 knots, 11:34 11 minutes, 34 seconds 80 80 or 90 miles per hour, which again, to the best of my knowledge, we don't that's not a rout that's not a 11:41 11 minutes, 41 seconds technology we have a great deal of. We might be able to experiment to that degree, but not not routinely see that. 11:48 11 minutes, 48 seconds And so that that's I would like to know how how those craft operate. So any data on their movement like in the atmosphere right angle turns we don't have objects 11:57 11 minutes, 57 seconds other than helicopters that can do that kind of and then then but not that show have a structure without flight control surfaces or any means of propulsion. 12:08 12 minutes, 8 seconds Yeah, that's another thing. I mean, in when looking at UAPs in the sky, we're talking about uh observing means of propulsion, uh no flight surfaces, as 12:17 12 minutes, 17 seconds you said. Is it the same type of thing that we're witnessing underwater or like what are the differences when comparing UAPs to aircraft versus comparing UAPs to submersible craft? Chapter 7: Sonar evidence and extraordinary underwater speeds 12:28 12 minutes, 28 seconds Yeah. Well, that's just it's so hard. so much more difficult in the ocean because all the most you can really do is uh certainly at the ranges that uh we in 12:36 12 minutes, 36 seconds terms of the distances from any observing platform that we typically are interested in and come into contact with these which again aren't often we need 12:45 12 minutes, 45 seconds sonar to do it. You can use optics underwater but but it's relatively short ranges. So that's a possibility. Uh there's an interest there's a very 12:53 12 minutes, 53 seconds accomplished diver named Scott Castle who has um recorded I believe video. I 13:00 13 minutes don't know if he possesses it but I know he's observed UAP in the water and he's he's seen them with his optically uh and 13:09 13 minutes, 9 seconds so that that is a possibility for detection. But generally our platforms are are in a way that we we find things at longer range uh and because it's so 13:17 13 minutes, 17 seconds infrequent that that happens. in the three times that I've I've heard of it, it's objects that are, you know, probably hundreds of yards away and in each case exceeding 80 miles per hour. 13:28 13 minutes, 28 seconds So that's that's notable. And with sonar, you really can't do you can't perceive the structure very much. Uh 13:36 13 minutes, 36 seconds there is high resolution sonar that can do that. You might have seen pictures on the on the sea floor of shipwrecks that are fairly highly resolved. So that 13:44 13 minutes, 44 seconds that's a possibility. Uh again, the range, the effective range of sonar, that very high frequency sonar isn't great. You're talking tens of yards 13:51 13 minutes, 51 seconds probably, but that is a way to potentially uh characterize the structure of a underwater UAP or USO. 14:00 14 minutes Do you think that evidence might exist out there that may have been ignored because people weren't looking for 14:08 14 minutes, 8 seconds anything in particular? you know, when it comes to uh anomalous uh phenomena in the ocean, like if you're if you're 14:15 14 minutes, 15 seconds doing studies and something weird happens, but that's not focus the focus of your study, could that have been just kind of like brushed aside and ignored? 14:23 14 minutes, 23 seconds Yeah. Yeah, I think so. In fact, there's a story in Richard Dolan's book, History of USOS Volume One, where the a Navy 14:32 14 minutes, 32 seconds ship uh that was did what my ships used to do, hydrographic surveying, so making maps of the seafloor with sonar. The 14:39 14 minutes, 39 seconds ship was it was right after World War II, 1946 or seven, and they were surveying an area in the Pacific. So Chapter 8: Could ocean anomalies have been overlooked? 14:47 14 minutes, 47 seconds mapping the seafloor and then at some point a the sonar read a very shallow large object and then then they retraced 14:55 14 minutes, 55 seconds their track and the object was gone and and so that's an anomaly right there and and the object they really couldn't detect how fast it was going but that's 15:04 15 minutes, 4 seconds that's was that was reported but again it was it was treated as noise basically and that's how it is today. I think we 15:12 15 minutes, 12 seconds find anomalies in sonar data and any and a lot of ocean scientific data collection and and that's what I I'm recommending the White House do is 15:20 15 minutes, 20 seconds direct the ocean agencies to not filter out that noise but actually make that data and not make the anomalies uh targets for research. 15:29 15 minutes, 29 seconds I've spoken to several people about um UAPs and and gotten theories that, you know, these these are 15:37 15 minutes, 37 seconds things that are around potentially all the time but not always visible. 15:42 15 minutes, 42 seconds Um and so that UAPs are not necessarily a rare event but just rarely seen, right? 15:46 15 minutes, 46 seconds Is there evidence that that's the the same in in the ocean? Uh no, there's not a great deal of it. 15:54 15 minutes, 54 seconds But but again because there's so it's the ocean's so uh little it's it's so under sampled that that in itself let 16:03 16 minutes, 3 seconds alone UAPs or anomalies in the ocean. So it's just hard to say. However, it it what you're addressing is a theory and 16:10 16 minutes, 10 seconds that is that these objects potentially are interdimensional and so they're showing up from another dimension when they want to a time and place of their 16:18 16 minutes, 18 seconds choosing. And it it would if that's occurring in the atmosphere, there's nothing about that theory that would make it different in the ocean. 16:26 16 minutes, 26 seconds Yeah. 16:28 16 minutes, 28 seconds Um the like on the I guess as an extension of that also there's there's been cases where certain multiple people Chapter 9: Are UAP interdimensional? 16:36 16 minutes, 36 seconds have been viewing the same thing and seeing different things. Right. 16:40 16 minutes, 40 seconds Right. So I mean I know like as you mentioned like it's kind of like as above so below. I would imagine it's the same case with um you know oceanbased 16:49 16 minutes, 49 seconds phenomena although admittedly as we've been saying less people observing so probably uh a much rarer instance. 16:57 16 minutes, 57 seconds Yeah. Exactly. Exactly right. And and that it's just going to be a tougher problem to study in the ocean. But if we could find evidence of that and in 17:05 17 minutes, 5 seconds witness accounts seeing something but different perceptions by individuals that'd be that'd be more data to validate and re and understand this an enigmatic phenomena. 17:17 17 minutes, 17 seconds What are you hoping to see disclosed next from uh from the department of war? 17:23 17 minutes, 23 seconds They're promising more documents to be to be released. Do you have any hopes? 17:27 17 minutes, 27 seconds Well, I I have experience. says, "You know, I was a I was a political appointee in Trump's first term, and I don't I don't expect much. He likes to 17:36 17 minutes, 36 seconds fire for effect. Whether you like him or not, that's just true." And I I believe he's doing the same thing here. He's very pleased that there's a billion hits 17:44 17 minutes, 44 seconds to the Department of War website. He loves attention. Can't can't argue that. 17:49 17 minutes, 49 seconds Uh but what I see with the data currently, all the redacted video. And then then there was this example of the Lake Hiron UFO shootown. And it's widely 17:58 17 minutes, 58 seconds known that that was not a UFO. It was a spy balloon. And you could see it in the video. You see the trailing line that's coming from the balloon. Why do they 18:06 18 minutes, 6 seconds label it as a UFO shootown? So they're not being totally forthright there. And that leads me, personally, it will lead Chapter 10: What will the government disclose next? 18:13 18 minutes, 13 seconds a lot of people to discredit the entire release. Well, there's been many uh many pieces of evidence in the release that 18:20 18 minutes, 20 seconds were quickly debunked by people online and it it you know it it begs the question like why were they included in the first place if they were so easy to 18:29 18 minutes, 29 seconds debunk? Didn't somebody within you know the the CIA weren't they capable of determining what these things were? 18:36 18 minutes, 36 seconds Yeah, exactly right. They they I know without a doubt that that the government has much more high resolution data that 18:44 18 minutes, 44 seconds video and images that that show objects that are clearly not human. You can look at them. You look at the structure and 18:52 18 minutes, 52 seconds and we don't possess technology like that. And it's it's in the imagery. It's technology. So that that and and that was not that was not released. There's 19:01 19 minutes, 1 second nothing. You can see there's ambigu ambiguity ambiguity in every one of the the videos really. So I I and I think 19:08 19 minutes, 8 seconds that was deliberate. Uh he's teasing us all and and uh Robert Pow Powell who is the SCU scientific coalition of UAP 19:17 19 minutes, 17 seconds studies director he uh posted about this and he called it theater and I have to agree with him and it goes even farther because then 19:25 19 minutes, 25 seconds there was that aliens.gov campaign which you know was like a tease and got a people a little bit excited 19:33 19 minutes, 33 seconds and then you know it was not exactly what it was portrayed to be. Chapter 11: Images of technology “clearly not human” 19:37 19 minutes, 37 seconds And that that that uh that ruffle feathers here at this contact in the desert because there are experiences 19:43 19 minutes, 43 seconds here experiencers here and that was basically make mocking them and uh and that's a shame. It's really a shame 19:51 19 minutes, 51 seconds and it sends mixed messages because there are so many people in the government who seem to be earnestly going for the the truth. Um but 19:59 19 minutes, 59 seconds obviously you know it is not one you know homogeneous kind of like organization with one goal. It's many different people with many different 20:07 20 minutes, 7 seconds agendas right um but overall how does how much do uh things like that harm the the initiative to dis to disclose 20:17 20 minutes, 17 seconds information and be transparent? Yeah, significantly because it's just obvious the administration's trying to keep something covered up. Uh 20:25 20 minutes, 25 seconds and and and they're not really doing what they're saying. At least Trump when he says, "I'm going to release everything about aliens and extraterrestrials." I I think he's just 20:33 20 minutes, 33 seconds making a mockery of it all. And and it's that's too bad because there's something there there. That's why we're here at this conference. 20:40 20 minutes, 40 seconds Former government officials like me seeking the truth about this topic and and not making fun of it in any way. And I believe I believe that's what president's doing. 20:49 20 minutes, 49 seconds I know this might be difficult to answer uh or maybe it's just speculation but do you think that other countries are approaching this in a different way in 20:57 20 minutes, 57 seconds in in terms of studying this phenomena whether it be in the sky or in the ocean? 21:01 21 minutes, 1 second There they are. Uh and so for example at the first UAP hearing that included I think that he was a deputy director of 21:09 21 minutes, 9 seconds naval intelligence Scott Bray someone I've worked with closely in the Pentagon. He he he said that yes, China has the equivalent of a UAP task force. 21:17 21 minutes, 17 seconds Okay, there's that. We know from Jacques Bla's experiences he's visited the Soviet Union, Russia, and now uh and he Chapter 12: Is the government undermining disclosure? 21:24 21 minutes, 24 seconds he has talked to scientists who who've researched the phenomena there. And now just recently, and this is interesting because I I I'm going to take a little credit here on behalf of the Soul 21:33 21 minutes, 33 seconds Foundation, we engaged the government of Japan and their diet, the parliament in Japan over the last two years. and uh 21:41 21 minutes, 41 seconds one of the uh one of their members has been leader on this effort and he uh has finally encouraged the prime minister's office to establish what they're going 21:49 21 minutes, 49 seconds to call I believe a UAP command center to coordinate investigation and response to sightings. What they did is I think they looked at the administration uh 21:58 21 minutes, 58 seconds addressing UAP and our and our Congress which deserves a lot of applause for what the members of the House and Senate 22:06 22 minutes, 6 seconds have been doing for the UAP disclosure act and bringing forth these videos. I think 52 or six of them were directly in 22:13 22 minutes, 13 seconds response to congressional requests for the Department of War to release them. 22:17 22 minutes, 17 seconds That's good. and and so uh and now it looks like Japan's following suit and that that's a good thing too because obviously the UAP don't follow national 22:26 22 minutes, 26 seconds boundaries or borders and so why not work together in a in a international collaborative way team the resources and 22:33 22 minutes, 33 seconds and and learn more and and so and and I was pleased I was actually interviewed for one of the Japanese uh journals 22:41 22 minutes, 41 seconds called the Liberty and it it came out this week and it's a it's a good interview. I'm pretty proud of it. 22:46 22 minutes, 46 seconds Well, that's good to hear. Ultimately though, do you think all of the power rests with the United States to start get getting the ball rolling to like, 22:55 22 minutes, 55 seconds you know, have have this transparency about disclosure or could another country be the one to hit that first domino and create the the ripple effect that gets all this information out? 23:04 23 minutes, 4 seconds Possibly. I don't think it will. The US is a is a world leader on on so many areas and in so many areas and I and I Chapter 13: How other countries are investigating UAP 23:12 23 minutes, 12 seconds and that's and I'm proud of that. when I led a lot of ocean related issues at Noah uh that that's I knew that we had 23:20 23 minutes, 20 seconds that we had that gravitas and the the capability of US agencies which have much more resources than any others around the world. So I mean I led 23:29 23 minutes, 29 seconds efforts on coral reef conservation uh applying AI to ocean research and discovery uh a lot of work on ocean 23:38 23 minutes, 38 seconds exploration and discovery with remotely operated vehicles and drones and and among number of other things. It was all USled work but with partners and I think 23:48 23 minutes, 48 seconds it really needs to be us again in in the pole position for this because other countries look to us for leadership. 23:54 23 minutes, 54 seconds That's just the way it is and how how we have it's it's just been the nature of the postw World War II order. Uh and even you can debate what this 24:02 24 minutes, 2 seconds administration is doing with respect to international agreements, NATO, etc. But it that's not going to even if that 24:09 24 minutes, 9 seconds might be a a draw down in diplomacy, it does doesn't negate our status as a world leader. So in UAP, I think it has 24:16 24 minutes, 16 seconds to happen. U you mentioned AI use in um researching the the UAP in the ocean. 24:21 24 minutes, 21 seconds Can you go into a little bit more detail about that? What are some of the applications that could be developed or used? I'm I'm really interested in how AI can be utilized in this respect 24:30 24 minutes, 30 seconds because you know who knows like we might be uh using AI to research AI if that is 24:38 24 minutes, 38 seconds indeed what these UAP are the source of them. 24:41 24 minutes, 41 seconds Yeah that's that's a very good point Rob. Uh ultimately AI is being used to research and study the ocean in a huge way. I again I advanced a lot of that at Noah. So one example is our drone fleet. 24:53 24 minutes, 53 seconds So we have all types of drones that on the surface underwater, some are hybrid and and aerial drones that that map and 25:00 25 minutes monitor ocean conditions. And so we grew our drone fleet to do just that. And then then that's autonomy. That's the that's that the autonomous system part 25:08 25 minutes, 8 seconds of AI. Other types of AI algorithms uh are um machine learning and machine learning applications are being used to 25:16 25 minutes, 16 seconds characterize uh coral reef uh coral reefs and whether and help restore them knowing different types of corals and 25:24 25 minutes, 24 seconds their uh their morphology if you will and being able to monitor them from time to time and uh and that's just two examples. We're using AI and predictive Chapter 14: Using AI to explore the ocean 25:32 25 minutes, 32 seconds models and that's very important like like rip current prediction as well as ocean uh currents and and that's those 25:40 25 minutes, 40 seconds are useful in managing fisheries for for example and AI is being used for weather models and ocean models to help not only 25:48 25 minutes, 48 seconds save lives and and help make ships become more efficient and uh and again for for sort of coastal areas uh when 25:56 25 minutes, 56 seconds hazardous conditions occur be able to warn citizens. AI is used being used for all that. So we can apply the same kind 26:02 26 minutes, 2 seconds of applications in monitoring for not only ocean conditions but UAP in the ocean. 26:09 26 minutes, 9 seconds And I would imagine that it's also useful in you know not having to send people down into deep ocean conditions 26:16 26 minutes, 16 seconds which can be dangerous and stuff like that. 26:19 26 minutes, 19 seconds Exactly. In fact that's so Robert Ballard who discovered the Titanic. He's a good friend of mine. He wrote the forward of my book. I'm really happy 26:27 26 minutes, 27 seconds about that. He uh he used these remotely operated vehicles uh which are AI, they're semi-autonomous to go discover 26:34 26 minutes, 34 seconds the Titanic and since then he has had a ship called the Nautilus sailing all around the world to use uh those ROVs 26:42 26 minutes, 42 seconds for the same purpose and then you can take the data the large quantities of video data and use AI to mine that those 26:49 26 minutes, 49 seconds those repositories for certain elements for research. So rather than just having an observer go through hours and hours of video, you apply a machine learning 26:58 26 minutes, 58 seconds algorithm for example, and then you can pick out all the areas of interest, whether it be again coral reefs or maybe the seafloor or shipwrecks, and now you 27:06 27 minutes, 6 seconds can be more efficient and selective and effective in in your your research. 27:11 27 minutes, 11 seconds One final question because I know we've uh we're almost out of time. If you could design the ultimate research program for this, what would it look like? 27:19 27 minutes, 19 seconds That's a great question. I and I would love to do it by the way if someone would pay me. Uh but ultimately it would 27:26 27 minutes, 26 seconds be it would be using or developing what I would call a a multi-system all domain network and it would involve from Chapter 15: Designing the ultimate USO research program 27:35 27 minutes, 35 seconds satellites in space to the seafloor and we have elements of that already. We just have not coordinated them to to conduct this kind of research. So we 27:44 27 minutes, 44 seconds would be we'd be having drones in every domain. So near the in the atmosphere, near the ocean surface, drones on the 27:50 27 minutes, 50 seconds ocean surface, under the surface, uh all communicating with each other and in a way that that they they their behavior 27:58 27 minutes, 58 seconds is optimized. And this is already occurring in in different ways in small scales where for example, you'll take a surface drone. Noah's done this. I work 28:05 28 minutes, 5 seconds with them and the contractor they hired where the drone is using sonar to map uh the seabed and and the volume 28:13 28 minutes, 13 seconds underneath. And then when it finds something of interest, maybe a school of fish, maybe a shipwreck, maybe some really neat marine geology, then that 28:21 28 minutes, 21 seconds that asset will communicate to other drone to drone other drones to basically swarm the object and characterize it at 28:28 28 minutes, 28 seconds a high resolution. So rather than just all mow the lawn, you can optimize your use of drones and satellites and chips 28:36 28 minutes, 36 seconds uh to character to really target and explore and investigate items of interest. That's conceivably if we had the right resources, we could do that for us. Chapter 16: Final thoughts 28:46 28 minutes, 46 seconds Well, hopefully we can get that done with that. Let's get it done. 28:48 28 minutes, 48 seconds I'm sure I'm sure that the information would be fascinating. 28:51 28 minutes, 51 seconds Yeah, that's that's the direction I'm going.
