Project Blue Book Ends

তারিখ 17 ডিসেম্বর 1969, United States Air Force আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে Project Blue Bookterminate করে, unidentified flying object নিয়ে দুই দশকেরও বেশি formal government investigation-এর সমাপ্তি ঘটায়। 1952 সালে Project Sign এবং Project Grudge-এর successor হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত Blue Book unidentified aerial phenomena-এর report সংগ্রহ, analysis ও investigation-এর জন্য দায়ী প্রধান U.S. military programme হয়ে উঠেছিল।

সিদ্ধান্তটি আসে Condon Reportপ্রকাশের পর, যেখানে conclusion ছিল যে UFO নিয়ে আরও scientific study significant advance আনবে—এমন সম্ভাবনা কম। এই finding-এর ওপর মূলত নির্ভর করে Air Force ঘোষণা করে Project Blue Book বন্ধ করবে এবং UFO report-এর routine investigation থামাবে।

closure যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সবচেয়ে দীর্ঘমেয়াদি official UAP investigation programme-এর সমাপ্তি চিহ্নিত করে এবং বহু দশক subject-টি নিয়ে public perception গড়ে দেয়।

Project Blue Book: পর্যালোচনা

তার সতেরো বছরের কার্যক্রমে Project Blue Book তদন্ত করে 12,618টি প্রতিবেদন যা military personnel, commercial pilot, law enforcement officer ও public member-রা জমা দিয়েছিলেন।

Air Force-এর final statistic অনুযায়ী:

  • 12,618টি প্রতিবেদন তদন্ত করা হয়েছিল।
  • প্রায় 94% conventional explanation দেওয়া হয়েছিল।
  • 701 cases শ্রেণিবদ্ধ অবস্থায় ছিল "Unknown"হিসেবে, অর্থাৎ available evidence-এর ভিত্তিতে investigator-রা satisfactory explanation শনাক্ত করতে পারেননি।

project twentieth century-এর বহু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ UAP case পরীক্ষা করে, যার মধ্যে ছিল:

  • Washington, D.C. Radar-Visual Incidents (1952)।
  • Lakenheath-Bentwaters Radar Incident (1956)।
  • RB-47 Electronic Intelligence Encounter (1957)।
  • Levelland Sightings (1957)।
  • Socorro Incident (1964)।
  • Exeter Incident (1965)।

এই investigation-গুলো একত্রে compiled হওয়া সবচেয়ে বড় official UAP report archive-গুলোর একটি তৈরি করে।

সরকারি সিদ্ধান্ত

Project Blue Book closure ঘোষণা করতে গিয়ে Air Force বলে তাদের investigation-এ পাওয়া গেছে:

  • তদন্ত করা UFO national security-এর জন্য threat—এমন কোনো evidence নেই।
  • তদন্ত করা object contemporary scientific understanding-এর বাইরে technology প্রতিনিধিত্ব করে—এমন কোনো evidence নেই।
  • তদন্ত করা UFO extraterrestrial spacecraft—এমন কোনো evidence নেই।

Air Force conclusion দেয় যে Condon Report-এর finding বিবেচনায় programme চালিয়ে যাওয়া justified নয়।

Blue Book শেষ হলেও Air Force উল্লেখ করে, national security-তে প্রভাব ফেলা report প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী normal military ও intelligence channel-এ handle করা হবে।

closure-এর পর বিতর্ক

Project Blue Book বন্ধ হওয়া unidentified aerial phenomena নিয়ে public interest শেষ করেনি।

Air Force-এর decision-এর supporter-রা যুক্তি দেন যে overwhelming majority report-এর conventional explanation ছিল এবং বাকি unexplained case dedicated investigative programme justify করে না।

তবে critic-রা উল্লেখ করেন শত শত case officially unexplained ছিল এবং strongest report-গুলোর কিছু investigate করতে যথেষ্ট resource দেওয়া হয়েছিল কি না প্রশ্ন তোলেন। সাবেক Blue Book scientific consultant Dr. J. Allen Hynek আরও rigorous scientific approach-এর পক্ষে ক্রমশ সরব হন এবং যুক্তি দেন unexplained case dismissal-এর বদলে continued academic study-এর দাবি রাখে।

ফলে civilian organisation যেমন NICAP, এ Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) এবং পরে Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) Air Force programme শেষ করার পর report document ও investigate করতে আরও বড় ভূমিকা নেয়।

ঐতিহাসিক গুরুত্ব

Project Blue Book closure official U.S. government UAP investigation-এর প্রথম বড় era-এর সমাপ্তি চিহ্নিত করে। প্রায় চার দশক পরে পর্যন্ত routine investigation চালানো Blue Book-এর তুলনীয় কোনো publicly acknowledged successor ছিল না।

তা সত্ত্বেও military personnel, pilot ও civilian অস্বাভাবিক aerial phenomenon report করতে থাকেন। twenty-first century-এর শুরুতে interest ধীরে ধীরে ফিরে আসে, culminating in programme যেমন Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP), এ Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) এবং শেষ পর্যন্ত All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).

। আজ Project Blue Book government UAP investigation-এর evolution বোঝার সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ historical resource-গুলোর একটি এবং historical research ও contemporary policy discussion—উভয়কে এখনও তথ্য দেয়।
