The Black Vault-এর শুরু
The Black Vault অনুযায়ী Greenewald 1996-এ 15 বছর বয়সে FOIA request করা শুরু করেন। পরে archive UFO-এর বাইরে CIA, FBI, Department of Defense, intelligence agencies, nuclear policy, military operations এবং অন্যান্য government subjects-এ expand করে। [S1]

FOIA research method হিসেবে

এদিকে released record-এর ভেতরের সব claimও automatically true নয়। Government file-এ raw report, allegation, working note, preliminary assessment এবং outside-party statement থাকতে পারে। Provenance প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয় "record কোথা থেকে এসেছে?", সব proposition true কি না নয়।

এতে "Pentagon said..." ধরনের broad statement identifiable document-এ বদলে যায়।
Greenewald commentary বনাম original record
