Leslie Kean

Leslie Kean is an investigative journalist and author who has reported on UFO/UAP for many years. Her 2010 book assembled testimony from pilots, military officers and government officials, but her largest impact came through the December 2017 New York Times reporting—co-authored with Ralph Blumenthal and Helene Cooper—that revealed the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program and brought the Nimitz/Gimbal-era military UAP story into mainstream news.

In 2023 Kean and Blumenthal also broke David Grusch's allegations in The Debrief.

Kean's contribution is primarily journalistic: finding named sources, obtaining documentation, and moving material previously circulating inside specialist communities into mainstream reporting. Her style has generally emphasised credible witnesses and unresolved cases rather than claiming that every report proves extraterrestrial visitation.
