The 40 files comprised 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio files, and three images from agencies including the Pentagon, NASA, CIA, FBI, and Energy Department. Alongside nuclear-era records such as reports of green fireballs near Los Alamos, the release included a 2020 Atlantic video of an irregular object later called the “jellyfish” or “floating brain.”
The Atlantic object showed no clear independent manoeuvre and appeared to move with the wind, leaving damaged balloons, balloon clusters, or lightweight debris as plausible explanations. A widely circulated version was processed with generative AI, creating apparent structure and motion absent from the source. Generative enhancement predicts pixels; it does not recover missing information and cannot support claims about appendages, texture, rotation, or biological form.
